This morning I was sooooo very tired. It was Huffle and my twelfth wedding anniversary. He gave me a Pot Mum yesterday and some wooden words.
Ahhh lovely. The boys were sitting at the kitchen table creating anniversary cards for us. Small had a picture of me one side, Huffle the other and big flower in the middle. Smallest's was of a happy me and Huffle and a Grumpy me and Huffle and the Jungle Gym. Different.
Huffle went off to work. Small went off to school. Both successfully. Smallest played on the IPad and Aunty A went for a run. We had breakfast together! Played Build a Beetle and then got ready and went out. We decided on a grown-ups morning and a Smallest afternoon.
The morning was spent walking along a street (with major construction on it) with shops on both sides. Smallest took his scooter and bombed up and down. We were hoping these would be interesting shops with cafes and lots of good things to see and buy (after all I still hadn't got Huffle anything!). There was one really nice kitchen shop. Lots of shops that were closed (possibly due to the water gushing down the road), some craft shops (or a sign pointing to some that didn't exist) and a load of bars that weren't proper bars. We found a cafe where Smallest had an ice cream and we had coffee. The owner was funny and kept asking if Smallest would let him try his ice cream and he left him the end of the cone with no ice cream left in it. The man then put another small scoop in it for him, as he said he couldn't leave the shop with a cone and nothing in it! The cafe was full of cats (not real ones) but cat umbrellas, pictures, statues, everything!! There was a sign that said "cats are like potato chips....... Deep fried" - not really, it said you couldn't stop at one. That's a matter of opinion.
We gave up on the shops and went to the local mall to pick up some lunch to take to the beach for Part Two of the day - Smallest's afternoon. We had sandwiches from Mr Sub (we have since changed the name to Mr Substandard), we won't be going the again.
We got in a bit of a pickle as we were miles away from where we wanted to be and we couldn't seem to get there easily. It took ages but AA got us there eventually following the GPS on my phone.
Picnic was first. Then a game of Park Tag. There were only five of us on the park today. AA, me, Smallest, a grown up man and and an older lady. Oh we all had such fun.
Next we got Smallest on his bike and he successfully cycled along a flat stretch of path for ages, until he needed to turn around, when he veered onto the grass and fell off. We said he would need to learn how to steer. He got back on, turned around and went the other way, when he wanted to stop, he veered towards the park and stopped when he hit a curb. We then decided he needed to learn how to steer and brake. After we taught him those essentials, he cycled beautifully to the car, steered and stopped.
We put his bike away, put on his swim shorts and took him to the splash pad.
AA and him played until they were soaked through. They had a lovely time. Apparently the water was very cold but refreshing. I got my feet and legs wet but managed to steer away from the main lot of water.
A bucket of water falling on his head
Aunty A is behind the big jet of water
We came away and drove home in time to wait for Small coming off the bus. Smallest got in the pool and AA and I read our books with a cup of tea...........................until we were rudely interrupted by Small coming home. He got in the pool too and then they both had showers/baths and started to get our dinner ready.
Chillin'
The boys were going to make us Pilzza for dinner. I say were because they started well but got bored and ran away so AA and I ended up making it. It was lovely.Smallest played downstairs with his Lego. AA and Huffle cleared the kitchen. I blogged and Small wrote in his journal. Apparently he has been doing a lot of French lessons in school. He has learnt quite a bit in the last two days (though to be fair he did do French in the UK before we came here).
It is supposed to be stormy early hours of tomorrow or tomorrow in the day.

Happy Anniversary! I don't like hearing about your sleepless nights. I like to tell myself that by the time my kids are the age of yours I'll finally be getting 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Littlest rumbleskins wakes every two hours. When will it ever end??
