Tiger Cob, Vimto and a Pear

As we were sitting waiting for our flight last night, there was an announcement saying that the flight was oversubscribed. They then called all the single people to see if they would change their flights so that we could all fit on the plane. They asked if people with infants or pre-school children could board first so we tried and sucessfully got on. Hurrah. Smallest and I sat together next to the window. Bless him he was so tired, he fell asleep before the plane took off. We had to go to the anti-freeze area to get the wings defrosted first which delayed us slightly. Small and Huffle sat together (supposedly in the same row as us but in actual fact two rows behind!).

It was a horrible flight. Very bumpy, lumpy and the seats seemed really small. The films weren't much good and the whoke system it down half way through the flight. Poor little Smallest kept waking up as I fell asleep and then would poke me. He had really bad tummy ache and felt sick. At one point I took him to the toilet and he was a little bit sick in the aisle (we just stepped over it - it wasn't much). He hardly ate and hardly drank. He was in a bad way. We had a hot meal brought to us at 1am which was very strange. A rice or pealla type thing. I couldn't eat mine and gave it to Small. Smallest ate none of it as he didn't wake up and we saved our brownies for later.

The flight seemed to take forever and Smallest felt ill for most of it. I felt ill towards the end and Small did too. We were all sooooo very tired. As the plane landed (I had fell asleep so it was a bit of a shock) everyone (except us) clapped - why do they do that? What would they do if we crashed, Boo? When we tried to get off the plane we were informed that the bridge wasn't there to attach to the door so we had to wait. Then the bridge arrived and the door wouldn't open so we had to wait for longer. Eventually we got off, travelled along the flat escalator, watched Smallest be sick on the corridor (too much to step over this time) and collect our cases. Meanwhile Huffle took Smallest off to the toilet again and I told a lady what had happened, she didnt seem too bothered so I told a cleaner in the toilets who didn't understand me. Oh well.

We grabbed a taxi who drove us to the hire car place where we had another couple of visits to the toilet and lots of cuddling of Smallest. Poor thing was in a right state. We got our car which was a brand new Vauxhall and should have fitted in all our bags easily but didn't so we had them all squashed in the car. Two of the hire people came out to see if we needed help but we were soon on our way.

The boys pretty much slept all the way from Heathrow. We had to stop a few times because Smallest had tummy ache and thought he was going to be sick. We found the lady's house (after three attempts and turn arounds) who had our key and she showed us where it was. It was literally in the corner of a huge field. Amazing place, not big but very nice. The boys ran up to their room (two single beds upstairs with an en suite and velo windows in the roof. Small said he would leave his blinds open so he could see the stars. We gave Smallest a quick shower and got him clean clothes and he said he felt much better.

We quickly brought the bags in, didn't really unpack and had a sit down and cuddle as Smallest felt ill again. Huffle had called Grandad to let him know we were there and within the hour we had a house full of Grandma, Grandad, Aunt Pear nd CousinPest. It was lovely. Grandad bought in bag after bag of groceries to keep us going. We had a birthday cake for Huffle. Cobs and bread, milk, cheese, ham, crisps, many of Grandmas homemade scones (as well as the scones the house lady left for us with clotted cream), jam, butter, vimto, coke, tea, coffee and Grandad has lent me his cafetiere. Our fridge is full and we have cornflakes and milk for breakfast too. We are indeed a very lucky household.

We had tea and vimto and scones and a lovely Tiger Cob with Cheese/ham and crisps. There was much chatter. We haven't actually seen Aunt Pear and Cousin Pest for two and a half years (apart from on Skype) so it ws lovely to catch up with them properly. The boys loved having CousinPest here.

Huffle's hedgehog cake was lit and we sang Happy Birthday and then ate it, it was yummy scrummy. Smallest read to Aunt Pear and Grandma and Small played on a game with CousinPest. Grandad bought a Dongle for us to use while we are here and Huffle tried to get it working without success.

Eventually we sent Smallest to bed at just after 7pm (though our time would be 3pm but we have been up all night really). Small gave in himself at about 7:30pm. Eyveryone went home just before 9pm. It is so very quiet here and we are incredibly tired. We have a nice easy morning of sleep and nothing. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz
