We had a vote on where we wanted to go today and we all decided to go to Sauble Beach again.
The weather was cloudy and it seemed cooler, in fact the temperature said it was only 26 but it was definately hotter than that. Yesterday a woman stopped Smallest and said in a very Candian accent "did you catch the sun on your face? You did didn't you? Yes you did!". I wanted to avoid that again so we put tons of cream on him but I think he still caught it. Going in and out of the sea and rubbing his face, it's not easy!
We had a lunch at a place called 2 chicks cafe which was nice, they had chess on one table, scrabble on another, trivial pursuit on another one. It gave us an idea for what to make on the beach.
We popped into a shop and looked at hats and spades.
Smallest found a new friend!
Huffle found a new hat
We had an ice cream and then found a nice spot on the beach. We made a draughts board and found some stones for the draughts.Just need a few more counters
Huffle and Smallest going for a paddle
Everyone swam. No waves today. Very flat, very shallow, lovely and warm. We took the Frisby in with us and played in the lake.Lake Frisby
I took my phone in the water to take some of these shots - Huffle was very nervous
Swimming
Smallest refused to be in this photo - I think he was under the water
We made a crocodile..........And a castle.
Small and I got some reading in.......
while Huffle and Smallest played Boules and Frisby.
You have to look closely but they are there, left hand side after the group of people."afternoon to the ladies"
We had our normal picnic tea, a last swim and then packed up and went back to the house. As we were packing up the car we had a visit from Mr Fox. He wasn't scared at all, very tame. Smallest said it was the first time he had seen one.
We left about 9:15pm, the boys watched a movie on the IPad and finally got to sleep. We got home at 12:15. Half an hour less than the journey there! It was worth leaving early I think. When we got home, our house felt enormous, and clean, and lovely.
OUR HOLIDAY HOUSE - Favourite features to remember
How the door to the bathroom casually opens whilst one is perched upon the loo at inopportune moments!
The pencil sharpener on the board in the bedroom which is labelled water heater - the first night we thought we had to turn the handle to get hot water.
Sloping floors. A Malteser could easily runs from one side of the house to the other.
Tiny little 'iggle piggle' lights to make up for the fact there are no 'big lights' in the house.
The leaky front door (only when it rains).
The padlock which is the only lock for the whole house.
The TV that has no aerial and the DVD player that has no remote control.
We did have a lovely holiday.
HOME NOW.
