Ginger Ninja*

Our tree - leafless!!

More sleep - always good, especially at the weekend, though I did wake up early and have to get out of bed. It was fine though because I sat with my bears and watched their rubbish TV until Huffle got up and we all had breakfast together.

Part of the morning we all did our own thing. The boys played on the Wii together, Huffle watched football and I knitted and watched my TV.

Late morning we all played a game of Alhambra. Small won.

At lunchtime, all the boys sat and watched the first half of the Stoke v Chelsea football game with their sandwiches and I FaceTimed Yahoo which was a very spontaneous thing to do. Although we text each other a lot and she sends me photos nearly every day, we haven't spoken on FaceTime for what seems like forever. As FaceTime connected and our faces were on the screen, we just sat and laughed hysterically. What a silly pair. We had a lovely chat and some more laughs plus the promise of more unscheduled chats soon.

This afternoon we left Small at home who promised to practice his piano and tuba before going on the Wii, IPad or watching TV. We told him that we would send MrsRoyal round to secretly keep an eye on him (we didn't and we think he practiced because he gave us a rendition of both when we got home - though his cheeks were very red which is a tell tale sign that he has spent far too long on 'gadgets').

Smallest had an exhibition football game today against an older team - Under 10's. The older team seemed much stronger to start with and scored 3 goals in the first half. In the second half, Smallest's team gained confidence and got 3 goals back. They did very well and Smallest was very very tired. He worked hard.

After Small's musical performance, Smallest played on the Wii, Huffle and I made curries, rice and roti for dinner and Small made chocolate brownies. Dinner was lovely and we sat and watched the animated version of Lord of the Rings (one of Huffles favourites) and had some of the brownie. Small had used Demerara sugar instead of soft brown sugar and a bitter unsweetened dark chocolate, plus we overbaked it. It was lovely but quite heavy and it gave Smallest tummy ache and me indigestion.
