Pardon my T*t

The boys almost missed the bus this morning (I'm not sure who was to blame). We left Grandma at home and Huffle working this morning and Grandad and I went for a visit to Home Depot. We had a specific list and started by asking the 'flyer girl' where we might find the drain pipes/down pipes/guttering. It didn't really matter which words we used becuase she sent us to the wrong aisle anyway. We asked again and got sent to the correct aisle where we picked up lengths of pipe, elbow joints and screws in order for Grandad to finish the guttering on the side of the house. I asked about a Sealant Gun (called a Caulking Gun but pronounced C0ck gun here, I'm not saying that!) and used my miming skills to get the correct aisle. At the end of our list was a dryer hose as ours has disintegrated slightly. The man kindly told me you should not use a plastic one as they melt and could very easily start a fire WHOOPS so he found me a metal one which then meant I needed the tape to secure it and an elbow type fitting to stop it buckling! All done we headed for the garden part and found nothing so went and paid. The check out lady, Ruby, was very friendly, in fact so friendly that she leaned on the trolley and squashed Grandads hand with her boob. He was too scared to move it! Everyone was very friendly, happy and helpful. It must be the sunshine. It has been an absolutely glorious day with temperatures up to 15*. Just lovely.

We popped to the supermarket on the way to pick up a few essentials and sneaked through the 12 items or less queue despite the fact we had around 20. We asked the girl to count in twos. She was very accommodating and friendly too.

Back home, Huffle had finished working and we all went out for dinner at the Tin Mill in Uxbridge. Grandmas favourite there is the Sweet Potato Fries so we had them as a side order. Grandad and I tried the new Craft Beer brewed locally called The Second Wedge. We both had the IPA which was very nice. We had fish and chips with it. Huffle had a chicken and Brie panini and grandma had a Caesar Salad with chicken. All very nice. We poddled of to the DeadMans Shop but it was closed due to restocking - yeah it's Spring now, nearly Summer! We heard on the news that the was snow due in the UK on Sunday. Just as we are getting temperatures up to 20* too. The gelato shop was also closed so we popped to the bakery for something with tea later.

We drove to a garden centre and I don't know why we bothered. There is never anything in there at this time of the year. Pansies, primula, daffs and tulips in pots and that's about it. BORING! So we stopped off at another bakery and had a lovely hot drink and a little cheeky something whilst sitting in the garden. Very nice. Unfortunately we had to hurry because the boys were due home.

Huffle got on with some work while the boys added their garden ornaments to their gardens and Grandad and I did some topiary on the Yew Tree.

Grandad tested his drain for leaks
The boys, Grandad and I sat on the porch and enjoyed the late afternoon sunshine

Today I got sent two photos of things that had arrived from my posting on Monday.

MrsElderflowerMeadow's slippers I knitted arrived today on her birthday HAPPY BIRTHDAY and today also marks the end of her Chemo and Radiotherapy treatment. She has done so well and I know it's been really tough for her but I am glad it's all over. I am so pleased her stuff arrived today. What perfect timing.

.....and MrsSheep received her sheepy hat. It suits her perfectly. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY.

Grandad and Huffle sat in the sunshine texting Aunt Pear about her impending snowfall and not laughing at all (much). Can't believe we had minus figures last week and we'll be applying the suncream tomorrow.

Huffle fixed the dryer hose and got himself in all sorts of interesting positions but eventually did it and Grandad, the boys and I played football.

We learnt today that Grandads friend, MiniMo, died. We know he was reading this to hear of Grandads exploits. Very sad news.
