Pick the bones out of that!

A not so hot but still a lovely warm day. The boys are still in shorts (brand new shorts that actually fit them). I left everyone else at home and went off to Aerobics where I hurt my shoulder a bit more. Huffle worked and Grandad made a start on the drawer finishings. He couldn't do what he wanted so he wasn't 100% happy and went off and did something else. He fitted the gate latch and moved the washing line and as an added bonus he made a point at the end of the washing line prop which is ingenious as it pops into the grass - clever. He also mended Smallest's Franklin the garden spinner. Much later he dropped the tool box and I found him sat on the floor picking up each piece individually.

When I got back, Grandma and I went off shopping again. Our main item was to find was Small's black jeans and we tried to check out the shop assistants bottom (male) to work out what size we needed. We got him two pairs and they fit HURRAH. We took the curtain material back as we felt it was too heavy. Grandma bought something to take home and stocked up on sweets for home (UK home not our home). I got myself a new hat and a couple of tops and we bought the boys some garden ornaments.

We had lunch out at our Portuguese cafe and then quickly finished our shopping and came home. We didn't have to pick up the Tuba because it had already been taken to the venue for tonight's BandExtravaganza.

Dinner was pizza with Grandmas Garlic Hedgehogs and Potato Salad. Then we all drove off to Uxbridge for Small's Band Concert at the Secondary School. The school was huge. Small is going to have a real shock when he goes there the year after next. We were met at the door by a student who showed us where to go and escorted Small to his band room. We sat in the balcony with the rest of the Hamlet parents (not that any of them really talked to us, in fact some completely ignored us or blanked us). There were six different bands from different schools. They all played Oh Canada together and then each band played two songs each. Some of them were so good and polished. Our band was good but not nearly as good as some others but not the worst. Small did fabulously well and we could hear his tuba above everything else. It was a long concert at 1.5 hours but it was very entertaining. At the end, the main band left and all the others moved together as one and played two songs. They were very good, especially as they had only practised all together twice.

When I tucked Smallest in tonight he said "we had no lunch monitor today (they were in band practice) so I walked in my room and said 'The King is here, sit down peasants' the lunch lady shouted 'sit down Smallest'". She wasn't very happy with him.

We finally got home just before 9pm. Boys to bed and the rest of us watched Peter Kay and Would I Lie To You.

Huffle has a day off tomorrow.
