Huffle woke early and decided to take Smallest to get some compost. One of the nearby towns was offering free compost and woodchips to anyone who turned up. He said there was a huge queue of cars, piles of compost and shovels and him and Smallest filled their containers and came home. The compost was lovely and later we put it around our premiership plants (unfortunately we couldn't mulch the whole garden as it is too big). Smallest added the woodchips to the paths for us.
We had a waffle breakfast, a massive washing of bedding and spent the morning in the garden. Huffle and I did a bit of gardening, Grandad started on the drain pipes, Smallest and I laid a new slab with Huffles help and Grandma cleaned inside.
We all went to Smallest's football practice and game. Small got some new boots and an England top from Coach and Huffle and him tried them out kicking the ball up one of end of the field while the team did their technical training. We all watched from the balcony.
After the game (Smallest's team won 4-1) we visited the Thrifty Shop where Grandad did his normal MrBenn trying on of costumes, Huffle kitted Small and Smallest out with some trainers and I bought some saucers for my plants.
We had a late dinner at Kings Landing where we had a nice relaxing time, played cards, ate and drank and half listened to the basketball (you couldn't NOT listen to it as it was REALLY LOUD).
Back home Grandad extended the washing line and played football with the boys. Small, Huffle and I cleaned the cars and all beds were made.
We suddenly remembered there was a Jazz event, an hour before the start and decided to go. Grandma very kindly babysat the boys and Grandad, Huffle and I made ourselves beautiful and clean and walked down towards the Church where it was held. Mr and Mrs Royal stopped and gave us a lift and we got there in no time. We purchased our tickets, picked up our red wines and sat ourselves on the end pew. The accoustics were excellent. The five piece Jazz band, who had been together for 25 years were very good and very entertaining. The main man (drummer) talked us through the inspiration for each song he wrote, some in a very tangent way too. One song was about a Possum, one about the stars and another a woman they met in Chile. Grandad couldn't understand why the stories had anything to do with the music but we all enjoyed it. We had a break in the middle where we got another wine and Huffle and I had a chat with a few locals. Fabulous night.
