Goodbye Moo

Moo is going home this afternoon.  She has been here for five weeks.  She has been in this house as long as we have. It will seem very strange around here without her.

Small went to school on the bus again.  It was horrible watching Moo watching Small getting on the bus knowing that she wouldn't see him for while.  He said nonchalantly "see you on Skype".  Smallest stayed at home.  After breakfast smallest finished off some colouring he was doing for our friends back home.

Concentrating on his drawing

Moo helped to colour in

We played a couple of games (not Disney Monopoly - wahoooo).

The temperature was around 8* today but it rained a lot and it was really foggy.

At 2pm we left for the airport.  The roads were busy and the fog got thicker, luckily it cleared on the highway and we got there in plenty of time.  We had checked in online before we got there so thought we would just have to drop the bags off without waiting in line.  However everyone in the queue had also checked in online so there didn't seem to be an advantage at all.  It didn't take long and Small was making us smile.

New form of transport

 The foggy runway

This doesn't make it look too bad but you could hardly see the planes.

Moo left us with lots of hugs, kisses and promises to Skype and email.  We waved her away.  Smallest was really upset.  He kept saying "....Moo has gone, ....Moo has gone".  I tried to tell home she would be back soon and that we could see her on the computer but he took it quite bad.

Bye bye Moo, thanks for helping us to settle in the new house.

We will miss you.  Don't forget to email us when you get home.

We drove back along the highway to pick Small up from his friends (he went there after school).  It was even foggier, even busier and Smallest was bored and sad.

The tops of the buildings had disappeared into the fog.  Look at all that traffic!!

Picked up Small who had had a whale of a time.  Finally got home about 6pm.  Quick rush of dinner and then we put the kids to bed.  Not done that for five weeks.  Moo did it.  Shock! It takes ages!  OMG I've got the morning rush to do all by myself.

We were a bit worried that the fog may have delayed Moo's flight but we checked online and it actually left 1 minute early.  While I was looking for the flight information I found a story about a flight that was due to land at London Heathrow and an announcement went out to say that the plane was about to crash into water.  I panicked just briefly but it wasn't Moo's plane and it was a mistake.  They mistakenly put out an announcement!  Fancy playing that out on a plane.  How awful.  Can you imagine the horror?

And away we go........

SUNDAY

I was woken at 6am this morning by Moo. Smallest was fast asleep and didn't want to wake up. Moo finally woke him and he was in a chimpy mood. He said he didn't want to get up because his eyes wouldn't open properly. We got dressed, stuffed our PJ's in the case and waited for the taxi.

Said a tearful goodbye to Moo - WOW that was hard. She is off for four days to Devon with her friends so she will be busy.

Huffle and Small arrived in the taxi and we loaded the rest of the bags. He said it was very hard leaving his Mum and Dad's this morning. No one said this was going to be easy!!

The taxi ride wasn't too bad. Seemed very long. Really wanted to sleep but of course the boys had other ideas! Lots of "I Spy" and looking at lorries (trucks, we must call them trucks).

After we checked in our bags - (for those wanting to visit - a kind Canadian Lady told us to register with Air Canada so they can keep letting us know of cheap air deals throughout the year) we had a big breakfast and checked all our bags for liquids and put them in the appropriate bags.

The wait in the airport was okay. The boys found a helpful bear to talk to:-

When we finally got on the plane (some NOT so helpful people NOT helping us) with our many bags. The boys were wonderful. They each had a case to pull and we ran along the flat escalator (as Small called it). Our seats were right at the back of the plane.

We were first delayed by 30 minutes (sitting on the plane) and then a further 30-40 minutes (still sitting on the plane) all due to weather apparently - though from where I was sitting it was beautiful sunshine). Small started watching Rango and then played on the IPad. Smallest watched a bit of Cars2 and then The Nightmare before Christmas. I started to watch Bad Teacher but it was a little inappropriate seeing as I was sitting next to Small (boobs and bad language - he couldn't hear the language because he had his headphones in and he wasn't interested in the boobs because he was watching his own film).

All this delay-ness is not a good start!!!! We just wanted to get there. When the plane eventually got on the runway, there were about ten planes lined up waiting to take off. I have never seen anything like it before.

We took off through the fog and the lumpy clouds.

Long long journey. Lots of trips to the loo. Lots of sweets and chocolate stops. Few films. Couple of tv programmes........... Then finally we landed at Pearson Airport.

Then the fun started........... Carrying the bags off the plane and along the Extremely fast Express Travellator. Kids loved it. Then we had to queue in a "theme park" style (ie round and round and wiggly and round), at which point I got fed up and ducked under the 'ropes' only to be shouted at by a Chinese hitler lady - I shouted "he can't walk that far, he's only little' and carried along. I wasn't trying to get in front of anyone, just trying to make it easier for Smallest.

Then we went through passport control - no problem except he sent us off in the wrong direction where we ended up with the real immigrants - like asylum seekers. At which point I turned to Huffle and said "what are we doing here" "why have we come?". We got to the right place. Filled out some forms. Paid some money. Got our papers checked.

WE CAN NOW STAY IN THE COUNTRY OFFICIALLY UNTIL FEBRUARY 2014 when Huffle's passport runs out. I can't work (outside the home) and I can't go to school, but I can go on a course to learn how to make sheds (that's what the immigration man said - I think he was being funny!).

Off to find our hire car which was a beast of a car. Dodge Great Big Biffa Car Seven Seater. With a Sat Nav which had no idea where we were or where we wanted to get to. Useless!!!!

Huffle followed his nose and got us straight to the rental house. However, he did half of the journey with no lights on. A few cars flashed us but we had no idea why. We pulled over and up them on. Phew, safe travelling!!

LOVELY. Small but lovely with a really nice feel to it. The lady who owns it keeps injured Bats so you have to be really quiet when you come in the door - oh dear!

The boys air bed is pumped up (we bought this one, we didn't borrow it from Everett and Shorts this time - so hopefully it will stay up).

Bless the boys, they did really well. They both fell asleep in the Biffa Car and missed going past their new school. Never mind we can show them tomorrow.

The house is lovely and warm, in fact we have turned the heating down because we were too warm. It is rather chilly outside and the owner came to greet us in warm boots and a woolly hat!

Had a cup of tea, a slice of bread and butter and a bite of Betty Brownie's brownie.

NIGHT NIGHT. ZZzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZzzzzzzZZZZZzz
