You want to deliver it when?

Last night Huffle got a phone call from the shippers to say hat they can now deliver on the 23rd December.  Now I know we should be happy but we've rebought all the Christmas presents.  Been given sofas, and had plans for the 23rd.  Am I being unreasonable?  I am happy to get our stuff, of course I am, but what an upheaval this will cause.

Oh bums, just get on with it silly woman!

The container arrives here at our house tomorrow morning (Friday for those of you in a different time zone).

I look forward to showing you the photos of the chaos..........

FEAST, FIRE AND FANCY FOOTWORK

Shippers Ben and Dave turned up this morning at just after 9am. They started in the shed and then moved swiftly through the house. The beds have gone, the bedding has gone. The kitchen table and chairs are all wrapped up.

We emptied the fridge freezer and cooked the contents. There were fish, fish fingers, ham, cheese, chips, scampi, bread, beans, scrambled egg! Coke, juice and tea. The shippers tucked into the feast while we sidled off down to our village pub with Grandad and MIL Dragon. We had a lovely meal of haddock and chips and peas. Yahoo popped down and had a quick drink with us (and a last goodbye - she doesn't want us to go you know!).

The loft is now empty. There are lots of boxes loaded onto the truck. When Smallest came home he had a look.

I popped round to "Everetts" today and had a coffee with her and "Em". Everett bought me a lovely book of Crafts from Kirsty Allsop - I shall be making some things from that book once we are settled.

Then "The Chaps" arrived and Big Chap and I picked up Small from school and they played football while Smallest and Little Chap stuck stickers in a Lego book (which Chap bought for the boys).

Little Chap and Smallest

Two little bears for our little bears from the chaps. Aren't they cute?????

Mr. Cosy Warm came today to collect some logs. His boiler had broken so I felt sorry for them and said they could have some of our logs. He came over with a wheelbarrow, filled it and I wheeled back for him. When he opened the garage to put the wheelbarrow in, I nearly fell over with shock. There were bags and bags and bags of coal lining the whole side of one wall and logs up to the ceiling of the other wall. He said it would keep them warm for twelve months. Oh well at least I know we have contributed to their warmth for a couple of days!!

This evening we visited The Elderflower Meadows and said our goodbyes.

KT did some more street dancing for us and we captured it on video. Her Street Dance name is KTBakair. I have posted this on YouTube but although we can watch it, we can't add it on to this blog. So I promise to add it as soon as I can. video here

.

We are now having trouble with our wi fi so may not be able to blog for a bit, but thanks to our neighbour L, we have borrowed her connection.

Jars and Antlers

Last night I had the brilliant idea that I would empty all my jars of food stuffs ready for the shippers to pack up. So I emptied the contents into bags and Tupperware. Then I completely took them apart. I detached the metal clasps and the lids and washed it all (not the metal as I knew it would rust) in the dishwasher.

Oh how lovely they looked all clean and gleaming.

Then I realised what a nightmare it was trying to get all the bits back together. AAArrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh. Why did I think this was such a good idea.

Now I am left with many lidless jars and a pile of metal fixings. Good one - STUPID.

Huffle and I went off to Moo's this morning to pick up a table. She doesn't want it anymore and we really like it. It's my inheritance she tells me! We also picked up a load of duvets, sheets, towels, pillows etc ready for Thursday night when we will have no beds or bedding.

So my car is full of table and bedding - and we forgot to pick up the chairs. Doh! There is no way we'd have fit them in anyway.

On the way home we stopped off at a lovely country pub in Peatling Parva for a 2 course meal. Yummy. I know I said there were no more meals....... I was lying. On the ceiling of the pub were lots of antler light fittings. Interesting!

HUFFLE AND THE ANTLER LIGHT - looks like its on fire but it isn't

This evening we decorated Smallest's tee-shirt with spots ready for Children in Need on Friday, then we found a glow stick and ran around the kitchen in the dark.
