Park, Picnic and Paul Daniels x 2

In Short

The shorts situation has been sorted.  In fact Huffle now has three pairs, thanks to me buying him one pair and my good friend's husband giving him two other pairs. What a lucky man he is. Now the dilemma is which pair will he wear and with which shirt??????

Tomorrow we drive to Heathrow and stay overnight and then off on Thursday for our trip to Toronto - oooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh scary.   Sure I'll have plenty to say and lots of pictures to show, but I may have to wait until we get back.

Park & Picnic

We have been to another park today and had a picnic under the trees in the rain.  The kids absolutely loved it.  The Mums did too, especially when Aunty J brought out the home made cookies - Thanks J x.

Aunty J also won the competition for the best looking picnic of the day.  WOW.

Paul Daniels x 2

When we got home Small and Smallest put on a magic show.  We wondered where all the TV magicians had gone as the kids would love watching them.  Small wanted to know the secret behind cutting a lady in half - but us Magicians have to keep it all a big secret (wish I knew too).

Summer Shorts

SHORTS

We have had a lot of conversations about shorts this week.  We have been invited to a BBQ in Canada next week and the invite was "Casual", dress - shorts) .  Now my Huffle has drawers full of shorts.  Short ones, long ones, big ones, small ones, baggy ones - but suitable for a BBQ with execs, from the company we are hoping will offer him a job, and change our life forever?  Probably not.  Looks like a shopping trip is needed.

HAPPY AS LARRY

Larry is Small's favourite night time toy.  He has had him since he was a little baby and I gave him a wash this week.

FRIENDS

We have had visits from friends this week and we have been to several parks and had a couple of picnics.  (I'll be needing new shorts myself soon if I go on anymore picnics.

Smallest has been picking and eating blackberries.

The Magnificent Tree

This weekend my Mum was rushed into hospital.  It was very frightening but luckily it wasn't serious.  It did make me realise how hard it would be though for all of us if we moved so far away.  Moving from family and friends is always going to be tough and as yet I'm not sure how we are going to cope with it all.

Its not too long now till we go for our trip and we have another afternoon/evening planned with some friends of Huffle's.

Meanwhile the smalls have been enjoying the sunshine and playing wth their friends.

Small and Bomberdill building an Igloo

Samllest and his mate building a den

Smallest and his mate riding a camel tree

Small and Bomberdill Brothers on same tree

Isn't this tree magnificent

Small, Bomberdill and Mate looking at Magnificent tree
We had a lovely day.  Played on the park, had a picnic, they played cricket, built a couple of dens, knocked them down, argued about it being knocked down, playing hide and seek.  Then we had a lovely stroll through the woods picking up 'intersting things'.

Oh yes and then an ice-cream to finish.

Storms, Spiders and Sand

Various emails have been sent from Canada to us this week.

Huffle has a two hour meeting with the execs. A friend of his would like to meet up with us and maybe take us sightseeing. Huffle's boss-to-be has invited us to his house for a barbecue, and two other people who work at the office would like to meet up with us for an afternoon drink.

We're only there for four days. Can we fit all this in?

Are we supposed to be looking at areas where we might want to live? Or at schools for the boys?

I got another book from the library all about Canada and have just read that they have poisonous spiders. Ahhhhhhhhhh I hate spiders. I'm terrified of them. "That's it" I told Huffle, "I can't go, they have spiders and ticks and snakes". He just laughed at me and showed me how you hit a spider with the bottom of your shoe. Oh no, I can't. HELP!!

Had a lovely day yesterday. We went to the library and then had a picnic by the stream.

On the way back we noticed the beach had been set up in our local Market town. The boys took part in a sandcastle competition. Small was very annoyed because the judges didn't even look at their magnificent sandcastle. Never mind, they had fun making it.

Then it rained and then that storm happened that was forecast, and boy did it rain!!!!!

However we had a bit of time to meet up with some more friends and a quick coffee.

Friends, Cars and Bicycles

Yesterday we visited some friends. The weather was good and they played and scuffled in the garden.

Today we went to the Cinema to see Cars2. It was the safe option for me because I wasn't feeling too well and I didn't want to run around, plus it was a sticky hot day.

This is not a brilliant photo as we were in the cinema - I had just given them a packet of Maltesers and told them they couldn't eat them till the film started.  They were giggling and smelling them.  Smallest HAD to have one but Small managed to wait.  Nice one Small.

It was an okay film, I thought the first one was much better, but the Smalls enjoyed it.

Then the Smalls had their hair cut and played with their friends (who happened to be the hairdressers children).

Small decided he would climb the tree, swing from the branch 'like a monkey' and grab hold of a rope............

......... and then fall off - whoops (oh yes whilst wearing roller skates) - EXTREME!!!

Then the boys went for a bike ride

I am waiting for the storm that has been forecast and I don't mean the boys fighting again, although that's happening right now. I asked smallest why they can't just get on and play nicely together. His reply was "I think it's because we are not girls!"
