Stinger

I didn't sleep well last night. Too excited? Too worried I wouldn't wake early enough? Whatever it was it was silly because now I am sooooo tired. I woke before Huffle had to get me up. He was suffering with a sore throat. Small got up late and I had to wake Smallest up. Mrs Royal came round early so I could get going (MrsM rang to say the Highway was closed so we would need to go as soon as possible).

We drove almost alongside the lake and I had an Historic guide to the places we passed through. For example, the road we were on used to be the main thoroughfare for the postal service. The horse and cart would carry the post and they would have to stop overnight and change the horses. It was very interesting.

We got to the Royal York Hotel in Downtown Torronto just after 10am. A valet parked our car and the Executive Sous Chef greeted us (English and from Birmingham) and took us up in a lift a few floors and then in another lift to about the 11th floor, then we had to climb the stairs to the 14th floor. The view was spectacular. I could see some of my favourite buildings and the CNTower and the lake.

The rooftop was set out with a pebble floor with slabs in between to walk on. Lots of raised beds (waist high), which made for very good gardening, no sore knees, no aching backs. Perfect. I would love all of our garden to be on this level.

We had the exec chef to help us at first and then he went off for a meeting. We also had the help of another chef, an assistant chef and someone else for the rest of the morning. We worked hard. We weeded, manured, mixed and filled four beds and a several big pots.

We used many different lettuces, Pok Choi, mustard and violas. The idea was to make it look like a mosaic. There is just not enough space to grow enough to use for all their recipes so they have various specials that they offer, for example, ......with rooftop chives. The chefs are responsible for the upkeep of the beds and watering, though we couldn't get the hose to work properly without watering one our ladies.

I pruned the grapes and the rose bush and had a good look at the honey bees there. The honey is used in dressings and is made into a 'stinger' beer. I was told not to go too close as I was wearing black and the bees might think I was a bear trying to steal their honey.

Each of the hives has a different name, Bee and Bee Suite, VIBee Suite, Honeymoon Suite - very cute

I loved gardening there and the Exec Sous Chef said we were to have dinner there so around 1/1:30 we cleared up and made our way down to the dining areas. We we still dressed in our gardening gear and felt a bit silly but they didn't seem to care. They weren't at all pretentious. We all had Fish and Chips because it was in 'stinger' beer batter and we thought that was appropriate. We had a lovely glass of wine and the food was delicious.

We had to come away in the end because I needed to get back in time for the boys getting home otherwise I think we could have sat there all day. The journey home wasn't too bad and we got back in good time. We went back to the Nursery and dropped the stuff off and picked up a plant that one of the ladies had left for me. I popped round to the Royals to thank them for putting the boys on the bus this morning. Their friend 'Prince Phillip' was there with a carrot cake so I stayed for a cup of tea. The boys bus came and I ran out to get them and they came back with me and had a piece of cake. They played a game with Mr Royal and Prince Phillip and then we came home. Mrs Royal and Prince Phillip wandered around our garden and then went home.

Huffle came home after being at the doctors briefly. They wouldn't give him anything because it has only just started but they did swab him. If the swab comes back positive they will phone him but if it is clear they won't bother. I don't know how long he has to wait. I made him gargle salt water and gave him a hearty soup for dinner.

Small had Track and Field today. He came back with four 'enthusiasm' ribbons. He said he didn't do very well and came last or nearly last in all events. He enjoyed it though. I get the feeling that his class didn't do too much practicing.

I have a terrible headache, probably due to the wine at lunch and being in the sun on a roof most of the day. Huffle has gone to bed (7pm) and the boys are definitely going to bed early tonight to catch up. Smallest is very sensitive (tired) and Small keeps arguing and being grumpy (tired).

I shall sit and watch Bomb Girls and Knit. I still can't hear in one ear and I shall be going to the doctors tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed I can hear then!

It is supposed to have been the hottest day so far and Thursday is going to rain. It was certainly a beautiful day and I was in the most beautiful space.

The sky was an amazing colour today

Gyppo's for the evening

Huffle had to wake me this morning and I had to wake Small. Both of us were in a deep sleep. Huffle and Small went off. Smallest played on the computer while Moo skyped me. We can't believe it is only four weeks on Wenesday till she is here.

Smallest and I went out shopping this morning. First we went to change his sandals into a size that fits him. He chose the ones he wanted and then chose some trainer socks for him and Small.

He wants me to tell you that he is a chicken and he has just laid an egg!

Next we went to a clothes shop and he chose himself some shorts and we got a couple of pairs for Small too. Then we did some food shopping. By the time we got home it was past 1pm so we had lunch. Smallest in front of the TV and me on the porch in the dappled sunshine. Today the temperature was 30* in the sun room. 28* outside the back door (sun trap) and about 23* everywhere else. Moo said the sun was out in England and it was hot (about 19*) Mrs Rumbleskins informs me that at 22* in Oz, they think its cool (not Fonz cool but cold cool!).

The afternoon was spent in the garden in the sunshine. Scooting, football, swinging, biking over to the Royals for a quick chat. Inside for a cooling drink and then back out for more football. Small came home and we played more football, swinging and then got the badminton net out. We came in eventually for dinner and a cool down and the boys played on the Wii.

....and we played the new horseshoe game I bought for playing on the beach.

Good action shot. Not sure where the shuttlecock is.

Both boys went Cubs and Beavers this evening. Smallest let off rockets (good god!) in the Legion Field ...........

........................and Small went on a hike in the woods. Huffle and I left Smallest and drove Small to the conservation park where we then left him with one of the Mums as the ladder was running late. She sprayed him liberally with bug spray. Huffle and I then drove around the small sideline roads looking for houses that had been knocked down recently on the Federal Lands. We have been told there are many plants and trees to be had here as no-one owns them. We couldn't find much but saw some nice sights anyway. I have an email of someone who will show me where these plants can be got and I will contact her - she said that Smallest and I could visit her and her dogs and chickens.

On the way to pick up Smallest we saw a wicker table and two chairs put out for the rubbish. We collected the table and one chair, perfect for our porch. We picked up Smallest, checked out a coffee table on the other side of the road (no good) and came home. I feel like a gypsy tonight.

MrsM rang me this evening to see if I would still go and garden with her at the Royal York - YES YOU TRY AND STOP ME! I have asked the Royals to help me out in the morning and they are coming to put the boyson the bus so I can leave early. HOW EXCITING!

Small came home saying that the bug spray hadn't worked. Oh well, it was worth a try.

One thing that made me laugh (and worried slightly) was watching Smallest today in the check-out queue. He stood staring at the chocolate, normal children would be saying "can I have one of these?", not Smallest, he starts lining them up and putting them the correct way so the names are all the same way. Whoops, a bit of OCD creeping in there? He was quite happy, in fact he was in a world of his own. He never looked at me or spoke to me. He did a good job, should he fail at being a footballer (his choice, not mine) he would make a lovely shelf packer.

Busy Bees and Scraped Knees

It was strange not having Small here last night. I didn't go in and check on him but I felt weird just checking on Smallest. We woke up in the night twice, firstly because the Coyotes were very close and had obviously caught something. lt's a frightening sound they make. Secondly, because Huffle heard a creak and he didn't know where it was coming from. It was actually Smallest going to the bathroom. Then for the next hour, at least, I lay in bed listening to his tummy gurgling, rumbling and playing the 1812 overture.

Huffle and I had a lie-in though we could hear Smallest watching the television just a little bit too loudly. We had breakfast and sometime after 10am Small came home. He had just gotten up. They hadn't gone to bed till midnight, "because that's what you do when you have a sleepover" said Small with his little piggy-not-enough-sleep-eyes. We gave him breakfast and then all went off to buy some plants and compost. The boys have decided they would like their own garden on the front so we are going to dig another small bed and let them put their plants in there. They are going to look after them. We also wanted to join our two beds up on the front as we struggled to get the mower round them yesterday.

Our blooms today

Two little bears pretending to drive and Small being a dog in a car

Our trolley was full of little plants, we paid and came home. We started on the boys garden with a 'bit' of help from them. Once we had removed the grass, we dug it over and the kids started planting. Smallest got bored and went and visited the Royals who then persuaded him to plant stuff for them - the cheek of it! Small carried on reluctantly.

TL: eager to get going. TR:Abandoned

ML: Digging up the grass. BL: Finished Garden with eccentric stick with Morning Glory planted to grow up

BL: having lunch.

We helped him to finish, had some lunch and then joined our beds together and planted our new plants.

TL: close up front bed. TR: Grandad Easter in bed

BL: view from our back garden across field. BR: Beds joined together

Two women walked past and said it was a nice garden. Mrs NoQuotey shouted over "it's looking good". A man passed and mentioned my red arms - " be careful, getting awfully red, I should know blar blar blar". YES THANK YOU. Mrs Rumbleskins mentioned that she gets the same thing and the same comments. We need a good comeback - any ideas? I know if I say its just my skin, people try and argue wth me and if I let them think they know what they are talking about, they go on and on!!, HELP!

We briefly Skyped Madame Courvoisier , Grandma and Grandad and heard about their Garden Tour. Look at the lovely photos they sent us on their Pensioner Bus Tour.

Both of our cars were washed by all of us. Small and Smallest made a lovely river going down our drive and then Smallest thought it would be a good idea to scoot down the river to a tight bend at the bottom and consequently fell over and scraped his back and elbows and made his white England top a muddy brown. His plaster from yesterday was barely visible and he asked if I would take it off for him. He cried as he thought it would hurt and he kept saying "don't take it off, please don't take it off". But I had already done it and he didn't even notice. He had a lovely long soak in the bath watching Puss In Boots on the IPad, while Small played on the computer. They swapped round so Small could have a soak and Huffle and I made a Roast Chicken dinner.

We all ate and then later had a Rhubarb and Strawberry pie for pudding, which we bought for when Grandma and Grandad were here but we forgot to eat it. Whoops.

The boys watched TV and Huffle and I sat on the porch - the sun was still so strong at 6:45. It is very strange. The sun's heat stays until it goes down. It certainly makes for a nice evening to sit on the porch. (When the Mosquitos aren't biting you).

We have booked for our pool to be open in a couple of weeks - yay, we could have gone in it today as the temperature was a beautiful 23*.

May the Fourth be with you

Last night Huffle and I watched a TV programme called Duck Dynasty, on Grandad's friend's Quiche's recommendation. Although it was a reality show, it was a bit 'staged'. Basically it was about Rednecks who live in a mansion. We are not sure what their business is or how they made their millions but it was something to do with ducks. We have a couple more recorded so will see if things become clearer, the more we watch.

I woke up thinking I could hear but one ear is very clear (everything is too loud and noises are distorted because all sound is directed to my right ear), and the other ear is very deaf. it's going to be a long day.

This morning Huffle decided to dress up as Darth Maul (Smallest's costume) and scare the kids as it was May the fourth. We made a video and sent it to Apple TV where we hoped the boys would be watching.

They weren't watching, so they missed it. I had to go downstairs, ask them to put Apple TV on a and then play the video. They weren't scared, they thought it was hilarious. Huffle came down in the costume and Smallest wrestled it off him.

After breakfast, we went off for a day out in Historic Bowmanville for a Maple Syrup and Jazz Festival. We were all a bit wary of the term 'festival' because we have been caught out by that word before. However, as it didn't promise 'fun' we were hoping for something resembling a fete. On the way I suddenly remember we had been to Bowmanville before and it didn't offer much as a place, but we carried on regardless. All the car parking and side streets were full which seemed a good sign.

Smallest greeting Mr Icecream

The Main Street was packed on either side with stalls offering wood carvings, jewellery, doughnuts dusted with Cinamon and maple syrup, rides and quite a few people.

It was a nice atmosphere with a spattering of big band music and Jazz.

The boys all tried the Maple Donuts and bought me a lovely glass heart for Mothers Day, which I will now forget about until next weekend when I will be delighted they chose something I would have picked for myself. We visited the fair and the boys chose to go on a ride, unfortunately Smallest was not big enough to ride without an adult and as I am still having trouble with my ears (good excuse) Huffle had to go on with them.

Once we had walked down the street, sampling maple syrup, eating donuts, checking out the stalls, walking back down again and finding a British Shop that made Old Fashioned Britih Pastries and Pies, we bought a custard Vanilla Slice, Millionaires Shortbread and a Curranty thing that we can't remember the name if.

Next we searched for somewhere to eat dinner. We found a place called Hanks. Small chose Pizza (it was a small frozen pizza) with chips, Smallest chose Burger (not a great one) and chips, Huffle had a Chicken Kaiser (which was okay) and I had fish and chips. The Chips were lovely, home cooked, not greasy ones. The fish was soft and squishy and the batter oozed fat. When the waitress asked if everything was okay, I told her my fish was too greasy. She said she would get me another. I ate the Chips and I had a tiny cob which was nice, then my second fish came, much the same as the first. She came and checked with me again and Huffle asked her if it was a frozen fish. She said it wasn't. I showed her the inside and then I squeezed the batter to show her how greasy it was, she took it away and then told a man to go and check the fish. They ended up taking our drinks off the bill, it was something.

We came home, stopped at a shop for the boys to have an ice cream ...........................

..............and came home to get Small ready for his sleepover at Cogs House. We all cycled and scooted to Cogs, dropped him off and cycled back, briefly stopping at Smallest's friends house on the way. Huffle, Smallest and I had our British Cakes and a cup of tea in the garden whilst Skyping Grandma and Grandad.

Huffle and I got a pipe running out of the pool cover to clear it of water ................

...............and then we started mowing. Huffle and Small checked over the mower and bought some petrol to fill it up.

Smallest fell off his scooter and got a hurt elbow.

We had a game of football once the pitch had been cut and then Smallest watched TV and had his tea while Huffle and I enjoyed the last bit of the evenings sunshine on the newly painted porch.

Splendid

Some lovely yellows in our garden
Some sky, chimney and planes

....and trees and roofs.

Then once Smallest was in bed, we set about trying to replace the insect mesh in the front door screen. A tricky job, I'll let you know how we got on!!!!

Oh Canada Scratch yer Bum

As the boys left for school this morning, I waved them off with a "by the time you are home, I will be able to hear!".

First day for shorts

Drew rang me to ask if I wanted to go out with her this morning but I explained (or maybe I shouted, who knows?) that I had a doctors appointment. Shame, I could have done with some company today. I slowly got myself ready and drove to our Doctors which is about 30 minutes away. I was too early so I popped into the Post Office and posted a belated present and two letters. I got to the doctors with minutes to spare but then had to sit and wait for an extra half an hour before I was ushered into a very small office. The waiting room was very noisy and if you have ever had problems with your hearing you will know how frustrating it is to have too many loud noises all going on at the same time. It gave me a headache!

Now I am used to our small English Village Doctors, where each doctor has their own office, with some personality, maybe a photo or a painting. Our doctors here just seems to have a lot of little rooms each with a bed, desk, chair and a computer, I was there to have my ears syringed and there was no sink, no ear syringing machine, so when the Doctor finally came in he had to go in and out of the office to fetch more water, towels and empty the contents of what came out of my ears (sorry should have said, don't eat whilst reading!). He talked to me throughout the whole ordeal with his back to me, I was deaf which is why I was there, and I felt he had no compassion, sympathy or was bothered in the slightest. One ear is nearly clear and the other as stuffed as before. He said to carry on using the drops and come back maybe late next week. WHAT? I made another appointment but for Wednesday, there was no way I was going to wait until Friday!!! While I was in there, I asked him if he thought a bite I had on my arm was infected. It had weeped, was hard and swollen and very hot. He snapped at me to stop touching it, saying I was making the area red. He said it could be but didn't seem to care much. He said it could be the venom. I asked him if he thought it was a mosquito and he said "yes, maybe, or something like". GREAT, thanks then! I wanted to punch him.

I made a new appointment and went and got my contraceptive pills for which the Doctor gave me a prescription without asking me if I was happy on them or even checking my blood pressure. The pharmacist dealt with everyone's else prescription before me, or so I felt, as the chairs around me emptied and filled several times before I was called. When I saw the packet, I said "oh they are not the ones I have". "We just give you generic ones, that's what we do". OH RIGHT!

I left almost in tears, I was so fed up. I had been desperate to hear again properly and so far my day was pants! I went to a supermarket to buy fresh fruit and I kept bumping into the same woman in every aisle. As she was coming down, I was going up. She was on her phone and kept hogging the whole aisle. A few times I moved to one side to let her pass. Not once did she acknowledge me or say thank you. After the fourth or fifth time, I looked at her and said 'you are just bloody rude!" And stomped off. Ha, I felt much better. I paid for my stuff while Grandad was texting me to tell me there was not a blog for yesterday. I promised to look into it when I got home.

My journey home was uneventful but I felt sad and missed my friends, especially those that I can just pop round to for coffee and a chat and a moan about rude people. I got home, unpacked the shopping, made myself lunch and then Grandma and Grandad skyped me. Grandma is still suffering with jet lag. It wasn't long before Grandad's silly slobber made me feel better. I decided to get out into the garden and plant the raspberries. I put on my cut offs (it was very very warm today) and a vest and wheeled the barrow down to the bottom of the garden to the sunny spot Grandad had found for us. Mrs Nosey shouted "Hey Faaamfa what yer diggin' up eh?". At first I didn't know where the shout was from, then went over to talk to her. She said "yer gettin' sunburnt". NO IM NOT. "Yes yer are, I can see it". NO IM REALLY NOT. "Yer are". Now let me explain....... I have very funny skin. When I get warm (even in the winter) my skin on the top of my arms and my chest goes red. It is just the blood coming to the surface which means my blood is circulating well there. However, every new person I meet (and some people that forget) tell me I am getting sunburnt when I know I am not. In this case, today, I had only just stepped out of the door. I had factor 50 on and had only just walked from the house to the barn and down the bottom of the garden. I have fair skin but not that fair. I wish I had a comeback that would just shut people up. I know most of them are not being unkind but it is so annoying.

Anyway, Mrs Nosey and I had hopefully established that I was not indeed sunburnt and we talked about the trees, the weather, the grass and the kids. She said "well I gotta go and finish picking up the sticks before I mow". So I carried on digging holes for the raspberry plants. The boys are very excited because they used to run home from school, pick the raspberries off the bush, eat them and then come inside. They wanted the same here. They have further to go to get them but hopefully we will get a good crop. Plus I only like raspberries straight off the plant, I can't stand them with the hard pips in. Mrs Nosey's garden runs along the side of ours and at the back of ours. I heard a voice again "hey Faaamfa, what's a tree peony, is it a tree?" as she was looking at the plants we had planted right at the bottom. We had a discussion about Peonies and then she asked about the trees we were planting. I carried on working and then she shouted "hey Faaamfa, what kind of raspberries are you planting?" BOYNE and KILARNEY "oh right, not black then". They have Black Raspberries here which I thought were Blackberries but apparently they are wild Black Raspberries. Anyway, I didn't see her again for the rest of the day.

After the raspberries and trees were planted and watered, I contemplated getting the mower out. The grass at the back is long enough for the mosquitoes to be in and that is why we are being bitten but instead I decided to carry on the painting of the fence. It took me an hour to do nearly half and then the boys were home. They had a quick ice cream and then we went to swimming. Shorts and crocks today - last time I went it was snowing! The boys did very well as usual. Small started with 13 lengths and then did 3 lengths at a time of various strokes in between doing diving and jumping and treading water. They are following the Red Cross programme so they also have to learn survival techniques which is good. Smallest kept smiling at me and sticking his tongue out.

We came home, Huffle was already there, dinner in the oven and painting the porch. It looks fabulous. He has done a good job. We all ate, watched some random YouTube videos of roller coaster rides (Smallest didnt believe I had ever been on a scary ride so Huffle showed them the Collosus which we went on in Thorpe Park some years ago) and then Huffle and I walked around the garden doing a 'yes' run. If I haven't explained before, this is where we walk around the garden looking at new and old plants saying 'yes that's coming though well', 'yes we planted that last year', 'yes that looks nice' etc etc. We watered, had a couple of games of Table Tennis and then put the kids to bed.

Smallest told me a funny story yesterday. For a while now he has had an itchy bum and there are a couple of spots on it. We are constantly telling him to stop scratching and after his shower the other day, I put some sudacream on the spots to see if it would help. He said that in school he scratched his bum to the tune of 'Oh Canada' while he was singing it. (They have to sing it every morning before school starts). That really made me laugh, picturing him scratching in time. I have just tucked him up in bed and he has discarded his PJ top. Small always takes his PJ's off because he gets too warm, so now Smallest takes his top off and we call him a HillBilly. When he asked what a Hillbilly was, Small shouted, it's a man named Billy who lives on top of a hill. Tonight I sang and danced around his room pretending to do line dancing and plucking a banjo. At least I am laughing now. Wasn't earlier!

Huffle and I had our lovely pot of Yorkshire tea in front of the TV, that I can half hear, and watched Celebrity Juice, we are two weeks behind and Grandad says the latest one is the funniest EVER! He said he had tears.

I realise this is a bit of a moany post bit I do feel better already.

3 babies in a bag

Still deaf, completely in one ear and partially in the other. Once I had packed the kids off to school and had breakfast, I got my gardening tools out, jumped on my bike and cycled to the other end of the Hamlet. There I joined two other ladies and we set about clearing up the Community Garden.

We weeded, raked, cleared and cut back. I found a nest of baby rabbits which all jumped out and tried to run away. It was obvious they were very young as they had trouble running. We caught three of them but we think there might have been more. We put them in a big paper leaf bag until we had finished the garden.

The lilac is my shoe which shows how tiny the rabbit was. Bless, it just sat there huddled up to my foot.

Three babies in a bag

My hayfever kicked in big time. I didn't have pills with me and my eyes and nose were streaming and my head banging like a bass drum. What is it that sets it off? So there I am standing in the middle of a garden not hearing, not seeing and sniffing like a toddler, trying not to step on baby rabbits. Arrrggghhhh. One and a half hours later, with a bike basket full of used tissues, we finished. We put the rabbits back in their nest and left them to it. I met a nice lady today who told me where to dig up boxwood trees and Hostas and said I could visit anytime. She has dogs and chickens. Smallest would love it. I promised to go once I could hear properly. I cycled home, stopped for a chat with Drew and came home for a cup of tea and an Antihistamine. My eyes were red and puffy. I waited till the pills kicked in and went out and bought some pansies, geraniums and few other little plants to go in pots and baskets. Then came home, had a late lunch and went out and planted all my purchases.

I planted the urns on the porch, two hanging baskets, a pot planter near the gate, a pot of pansies by the well, three plants went in the front garden and I repotted a few things from last year. I also planted some things in the veg beds.

Veg bed no1 (carrot, parsnip, leeks, lettuce, marigolds

Some marigolds to keep the caterpillars away from the lettuce and some broccoli. I watered everything in, tidied away and sat on the porch waiting for the boys. We went for a quick bike and scoot up the road and back, stopped to chat to ClownRose and BabyMo.

The first thing they said as they jumped off their bikes was "can we have a water fight?". They filled a bucket with water, one had a spray gun we use in the pool and the other had a sponge! They got absolutely wet through and mucky!

I sent them up for showers while I started on dinner. Tonight we had a BBQ. Homemade burgers, sausages, salmon, jacket potatoes, mushrooms and salad and beans. It was nice to sit outside. Once we had cleared away we cleared up the canes the boys had been using for teepees and dens and then had a game of football.

The boys came in and watched TV before bed, Hufle painted the porch deck and I had a shower. I have a bite from yesterday that has got yucky stuff in, so much for thinking I might not get infected this year! I have about six bites from yesterday and another three or four from today that are swelling already. Probably should have started my Vitamin B by now. Whoops.

Perfect photography day for me too.

Come out come out wherever you are.....

Huffle and I tried to watch TV last night but I couldn't hear a thing and he said it was really loud! So instead we resorted to playing on the IPads. We played Yahtzee, Scrabble and Carcassonne. When we went to bed we couldn't watch our usual episode of My Name is Earl so Huffle put some more drops in my ears and we slept. It took ages to get off to sleep as I kept hearing noises which I couldn't tell if Huffle was talking to me or it was cars, or the kids or dogs!! It was horrible.

I woke up still completely deaf. Huffle and Small went off. Smallest played on the computer while I had breakfast and then we went outside in the garden for most of the day. We built a teepee and a 'structure', played Boules the length of the garden and back, mainly sticking to the shaded side as it was very warm today. My eyes were stinging all morning and I was sniffing. I thought I had sun cream in my eyes and that I had a cold but as the day went on I realised it was hayfever and it was worse than I have ever had it. I took an anti histamine and felt a bit better but my head has been banging all day. Smallest and I played Hide and Seek and I spent a considerable time in the Cedar Hedge, maybe I am allergic to that or it gives off a strong Pollen!

We went in for regular drinks and lunch. He watched TV whilst eating and I tried to watch some more of a film I have been watching. I couldn't hear it although one of my ears came back partially, so I plugged in some speakers and held one to my ear, ridiculous! Huffle got me an appointment at the doctors for Friday morning. At first I was disappointed because it meant no knitting again but I wouldn't have been able to go. It is a very noisy bunch of people and it would have driven me crazy.

Lovely sunshine make lovely photos

This afternoon there was swinging, more den building, more hide and seek, changing of bed clothes, some cutting down of the trees one side and then a nice long cool on the porch whilst playing on my phone waiting for Small to come home. When he got home, there was more teepee building and another hide and seek plus a bath and tidy of the basement games.

We made dinner and then had one more game of hide and seek where I was seeking. I lost both the kids, Huffle came home and helped me look. We were searching for ages. Small was in the hedge and came out eventually but Smallest remained missing. I actually started to get a bit worried but he was at the very bottom of the garden hiding behind the tree. He couldn't hear us calling. That is the longest he has ever hidden without jumping out!

We had dinner, then all went out for a game of football. It was good fun but the mozzies started biting so we came in. Huffle prepared some more of the porch. The boys watched TV and went to bed.

I am very happy to say that the Trilliums I planted last year under the trees have come out. Four of them. I am hoping that one of them is going to be the red flower.
