For 4 - 1 Against

Our votes for 'should Grandad buy the coat' have so far resulted in 4 people have said YES and 1 person has said NO. (no names Aunt Pear) Btw the whole idea was that he should look like Arthur Daly! Please keep voting..........

Small nearly missed the bus this morning. This time we blame Madamme Courvoisier as she was Skyping us again when it was time to run to the bus. He made it JUST!

We had a very slow morning. Smallest played on the computer. Grandad and I sorted out his banking. Then he helped Smallest finish his new Lego.

We went for a jaunt to the park/beach today. It was only about 5* and a bit blowy. I had forgotten what the beach was called and we ended up further along than we wanted to be but still at a nice to look at. Then we turned around and found the one we wanted.

The park was deserted so Smallest had the whole thing to himself. He played for a while and then we walked on the beach, looking for stones, skimming stones, photographing.

Wheeeeeeee
Grandma is looking for stones and Grandad is taking photos
The boys eating their mini eggs
Me relaxing watching the Lake
Skimming

We chatted to some robins, trying to find out their names. One was definitely French and we think the other was Canadian.

We think this one was Robert

He climbed this himself although he isn't as high as he looks

They are making a habit of this hand-holding business!

Smallest made me go on the park with him, I had to go on everything. Through tubey slides (which I remembered I really didn't like). Up and down steps and climbing across monkey bars.

After a while we decided to go and find an ice cream place, Grandad navigated with Smallest helping. The ice cream place seemed to have disappeared and been replaced by a hairdressers. So we went into a coffee shop and had a sandwich. There was a woman in there who seemed to have set up her office at the next table. Loudly ringing people, her laptop beep beep beeping, tip tapping away.

They had a whole wall filled with teas and teapots and cafetieres. When Grandmas tea arrived it came with a egg timer so she could time it properly (they said three minutes, however we felt ten minutes was more like it).

We found the ice cream place and all had a big ice-cream inside. They were yummy. Kawartha ice-cream.

One of those ice-creams is bigger than Grandma's head!!
The other two were so small we had to have some more - 'Cookie' told us to!

By the time we finished it was past 3pm so we made our way back home, dropped off Grandma and Smallest, and Grandad and I drove to our local town. I took him to the bus/train station, got him a ticket to Toronto and waited with him while the bus came. There was a woman waiting there also. She decided to talk to us. "Where are you from?". "Oh Leicester, that's in London!" "oh not London, Liverpool then!". Oh I'm going to Toronto too, which is the best place to sit?". "is that your Dad?". And on and on and on. As Grandad was getting on the bus he whispered to me "have you got any cheese for my ears?". I wonder if she sat next to him? Huffle and Grandad are off to see a Baseball Game tonight.

There's Grandad's new friend. Can't remember her name. Mrs Talk-a lot!

Grandma and I are home alone with the kids. We fed them, played with them, read them stories and put them to bed.

We are going to put our feet up and watch a film.

I read this funny story today.
