"Cowboy Kev I Love You"

Everyone but me got up early this morning. Huffle started the preparations for the party. The boys watched TV and played with their Lego. We had breakfast. Grandma and Grandad Skyped us and we got to have a quick chat with Mr & Mrs Gator.

We put up bunting, blew up balloons, finished wrapping the pass the parcel.

The boys got themselves clean. We got the food on the table.

The party was due to start at 11am. The first to arrive was the Burlingtons. Then KP & A. Pol and Gray. The Royals. We had a visit from a clown whe brought Smallest a present in a bucket (although she said she needed the bucket back). She bought her clown baby with her and then blew bubbles at Smallest. Nana the library lady turned up too. ClownRose, Inspector Cluseau and BabyMo also arrived.

Hello is it somebody's birthday?
yes it's me, it's my birthday, I'm Smallest!

There was lots of chatter and people getting to know each other, finding out how they knew us.

The Girls tea party - Muffin, BabyMo and ClownRose

Small got everyone together and we played Pass the Parcel Hall Style. Nana had to put ten marshmallows in her mouth and say 'fluffy bunnies' - too easy, she obviously does this all the time. 'A' had to be a penguin - not sure he's been asked to do that before. Mr Royal had to put Smallest's pants on his head for the rest of the game - good sport. Mr Burlington Bertie had to do an impression of a beaver - enthusiastic. Jnr Royal had to make a noise like an animal and chose to be a monkey (he's done that before). Muffin had to wear a giant tomato on her thumb. KP had to shout "I love you cowboy Kev" which she did, very loudly out of the front door. Smallest had to stick his tongue out at me (he definitely enjoyed that one!). ClownRose had to rub her tummy and pat her head - clown's do this all the time don't they? Then everyone did that too. Mrs Royal won the prize of a good old fashioned English Chocolate Penguin.

We lit the candle on the cake, sang Happy Birthday, and tucked in. The cake was dry, the butter icing (orio one) was lovely, and I noticed that everyone had a tinge of red on their tongues. Whoops.

"happy birthday to youuuuuuuuuu"

Then it was present opening time.
Cool - Dino lego
What is it? I can't get in it!!!

Cool, it's a sword. He also got chocolate, a dragon costume, lights saber and bubbles and a noise making drawing set.

Then we set about the piƱata. Smallest went first. Then Gray, Muffin and finally Small.

The kids played in the garden for a while, shooting, running, playing on the jungle Jim.

Everyone slowly left and Huffle and I set about clearing the mess. The boys put together some of the lego and then we watched Smallest play with his new Drawing Set - very cool.

Small was given a Yahtzee card game by the Burlingtons so we had a quick game of that.

Everyone was tired, and sat and watched a star wars movie for half and hour and then stopped for some dinner followed by jelly and ice-cream that we forgot (conveniently) to serve at the party. Then it was back to the film until bed time.

It was a good party. I think everyone enjoyed it. The people who came certainly had a sense of humour and joined in with all the silliness, better make it doubly silly for Small's birthday in October. Thank you to all who made Smallest's birthday special.

Noooo!!! Jelly and ice-cream is the ultimate party food. I think everyone had a great time as your pictures capture perfectly. Not sure that pants on heads will catch on though xx

Ahh, the British and their sense of humour. I miss that living amongst Americans that frankly, somedays, seem to have none! Ooh, jelly and ice cream!
