Mouse 1 - 0 Us

Weather -15 with a windchill of -23.  Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.  When we took the croissants out of the oven this morning we left the oven door open to warm us up.  Lovely.  Honestly it is that cold.  It's also snowing just a little.

This was how the Three Season Room looked from the inside.....

Icy windows

Mr Mouse is a sneaky mouse.  He visited last night, had a chew on a jar label which had birthday candles in - perhaps he wanted to celebrate.  He also visited the Cold Room and ate the two pieces of After Eight we lovingly left on traps for him.  The traps didn't go off.  He is a happy full mouse.

We were all wimps today and decided we didn't want to brave the cold.

We stayed in the warm and occasionally looked outside!!  I noticed these tracks when I looked out.  What are they?

Raccoons??

Or is it the Cougars?

The ones that have been released because of the over population of the Coyotes?

We played games (Monopoly of course), and Lego Mastermind.  The boys sorted their Lego into a new set of drawers I bought for them.

Moo, Huffle and I emptied more boxes and put things away and sorted the basement.

Moo finished Smallest's curtains.  They look fabulous and he is very happy with them.

Off to downtown Toronto tomorrow.

Not raccoons...they have skinny little toes like little hands. With the really cold weather they will be holed up somewhere sleeping. Not sure what those tracks are. Coyote tracks have four toes usually with the imprint of the nails/claws and a single back pad. I've never heard of cougars around this area only way up north. We live in the city but you get all kinds of stuff even here. Our biggest pain is skunks in the early spring when they just come out of hibernation. They are dozy and wander all over the place.
