Wanted - have you seen this maaaan?

Madamme Courvoisier (not usually known for her computing skills) again skyped us this morning. She saw that we were online and thought we were Skyping her. We had a chat with her and Mikita. They were being cheeky! I have never met Mikita before but I can tell she's TROUBLE!

Madamme Courvoisier sticking her tongue out - how rude!

The kids got on the school bus okay. Grandma, Grandad and I leisurely got ready for a trip to our local town. We drove the back way and popped into a Garden Centre. grandad wanted to get us some colour for our front garden. We picked out some lovely pansies, and some hot orange bulbs and moody blue bulbs.

We carried on to the town, parked up and walked around. We checked out the thrifty Store. I bought a couple of books, one for Small and one for me (well Grandma bought them for us). Whilst I was browsing I heard "famfa, famfa" I knew it was Grandad but I couldn't see him straight away.

'Ello Arfur, where's 'er indoors?

Grandad needs to know Should he buy this coat? Unfortunately the hat is not big enough but the coat was just right. Please comment and let him know if he should purchase it. We hid it behind another coat so no one else buys it, we can go back tomorrow! It's a bargain - only $25.

We had a quick muffin and drink in the cafe. Wrote a few postcards.

Ere she is, 'er indoors!

Ummmmm lemony muffin and a latte

We had an adventure in the bank but didn't come away with what we wanted so we came home.

Grandad started on the garden straight away. Bit of colour here, bit of colour there.

"Is this okay here ma'am?"
Grandma holding up some bulbs to plant
I'd like that one there please
Or I'll kick you up the bum!
Ooh lovely

Grandma went off to bake some scones whilst Grandad and I sat on the porch and waited for the boys. They liked our new flowers.
Grandma making fruit scones and orange and cranberry scones

Grandad helped Smallest make up his new Pirates of the Caribbean Lego.
We had dinner and then Uncle Grump Skyped us. His two cousins were with him today.............
Professor Grumpton and...........
Sailor Grumpwash. All quite similar looking again, but really, all different people.
Huffle came home in time to talk to his brother.

'Er indoors helped Smallest finish off his Lego whilst the others were talking on Skype.

Grandad and I went to the The Winchester to see Dave (or maybe we went to the Garden Club in the Hamlet). The talk this month was about Herbs and their Healing Properties. It was by a Swedish woman who had a wicked sense of humour. She told us folklore stories about how roses got their thorns and how they became red. We learnt all about the healing properties of herbs. Grandad was particularly interested in the Bronze Fennel as it was a good healer of Flatulence (PARP). We learnt that spraying lemon scent into the air around grumpy husbands made them either less grumpy or scared!!!! I found out that Rosemary (Huffle's favourite) cannot be grown as a perennial here. The talk was very informative. We spoke to the lady afterwards. She loved Grandad's accent and after talking to her about what he grew, she said that we should go and visit the garden centre where she works. We said we had planned to soon and she told us she only works there on certain days, but if we came on one of those days she would give us a tour of the place. Result! We are going on Monday.

We were chatting to lots of people, having a laugh, finding out about plants etc., and then walked home.

Grandma and Huffle were waiting up for us when we got back. All the windows were open. It was very muggy and sticky. small was still awake because he was so hot.

We told Grandma and Huffle all about the Gardening Club, tried one of Grandma's scones (nice taste but we definitely need a new oven), and went to bed.
