Lazy Hazy Day

Everyone slept well last night. Some of us got a nice lie-in. We started the day with a pancake breakfast and made the obligatory faces.

Then Miaow and I went to the supermarket for essentials. We asked where we might find Meringue, as we wanted to make Eton Mess, but a man in there said 'Meringue, like on a Lemon Meringue Pie?' NOT QUITE, MORE LIKE MERINGUE NESTS! 'What?' HAVE YOU HEARD OF PAVLOVA? 'What? have you tried the British Aisle?' NO NOTHING THERE, IT'S NOT BRITISH. 'It's not? Oh'. He went wandering around the big shop looking for someone who might be able to help but eventually came back to us and said, sorry I can't find anyone and I certainly can't find what you're looking for. As we were leaving the shop he told us another place to try. Very nice man, very helpful. We went to the other shop but they said Meringues was a Christmas thing. OH OKAY THEN, NO ETON MESS OR US!

When we got back all the boys were in the pool. There had been a mass water fight and they started on us before we were even changed, so Miaow and I got our cossies on and joined in the water fight. It was wet!

We got to have a bit of a relax and then Tuc and Huffle went for a walk to the Beer Store and the General Store for beers and wine. And a sneaky ice cream.

The Smaller boys played on the IPads and Miaow and I got some lovely time to ourselves chatting and catching up. Then we started on BBQ al fresco dinner.

Tuc was in charge of the BBQ and made us burgers, sausage, mushrooms, veggie kebabs, chicken which was all lovely and topped off with a salad, potatoes and couscous. Very nice.

Then we had a quick game of frisbee and baseball and retired by the pool. The older ones sat and let their dinner go down but the Smalls went in the pool and badgered us and soaked us until we eventually went in. Then we had an 'incident' in the pool and Small ended up with a very bloody nose. He was nursed back to health, meanwhile Smallest was sick over the side of the pool. And we all sat around in the last of the sunshine.

Small went off for a shower to wash away his red beard. We all had showers and played UPSET again. Last night Tuc won, tonight we are challenging him.
