This morning I took the boys to the library where they exchanged their books and got new stickers for their reading challenge booklet. It was too hot to cycle or walk so we went in the car. Next we came home, made sandwiches, picked up my knitting and drove to our local town. Here we popped into the knitting shop, got some advice on my current sock and picked up some new wool and a pattern for next sock. Arrrrgh I am soooo behind in sock knitting or any knitting in general.
We found a park and sat and ate our sandwiches and watched a couple of tightrope walkers practice.
It was 34* and still quite humid, so of course we had to have an ice cream at the Gelato shop. We sat inside the air conditioned shop and then went to the Cinema and sat in the air conditioned roxy to watch Monsters University. There was a camp or DayCare group in there (quite young children) and the kids were getting quite impatient and restless so one of the leaders stood at the front, and in a very loud voice, said "okay kids, let's have a game of Broken Telephone". Small told me that this was 'Chinese whispers'. Is that not PC enough for Canada? Anyway, we decided to play it too, not with the others but just the three of us. It didn't really work but it meant Smallest could say that Small smelt of poo!!!
The film came on eventually and was very good, though I'm not sure if I nodded off towards the end. I did sneak out and get the boys some wine gums and a water, but generally it was a good film. Not too many people in there because it was the last day before Despicable Me2 was being shown.
We went shopping on the way home. The boys tried to be helpful in between being a nightmare! They just wanted to get home and go in the pool. So that's what we did. However, we weren't in there long before the first fight started, so Small was sent away. Then he came back and the next fight happened so Smallest got sent away. In the end I gave up and sent them in for dinner.
During this time, I was texting Aunty Miaow and Huffle to get them to meet up in the right place, there was little wifi or phone signal at the airport so it was difficult. I still didn't know if they had met up until they all arrived home. I was sitting on the porch blogging and there they were. It was very emotional (for me anyway).
It was really really hot in the loft and we tried to blow up the Airbeds. Smallest slept in our room at the end of our bed on an air bed and Miaow and Tuc had Smallest's room with a single bed and an air bed. Hopefully it will cool down tomorrow and they can go in their room.
Once we had toured the house and garden, had a bite to eat, put the kids to bed, we sat and watched 300 wedding photos. It was lovely to see, especially as we hadn't been to the wedding. We had a good catch up.
