Grandma's Battle of Britain

Grandma

Yesterday Grandma decided to host a "war".  The village next to hers was holding an Air Show and we were able to stand in the garden and see all the planes flying over.

Mrs. Brownie ready for peeling
We had veggies dug straight from the garden and we all peeled, chopped and prepared them while Grandma made Cottage Pie, Corned Beef Mash and cheese and Onion Pie (made using her and all her family and guests rations of course).  We also had Apple Sponge and Carrot Cake - it was lovely.

After we had eaten it was time to watch the war (we didn't have a bunker so we had to stand in the garden, ready to take cover under the fruit trees).

Then it was time for fun and games.  Hoola hooping, throwing the ball at the hat, riding down the slope on a backward tractor.
