Fishy on a Dishy

Last night we sat on the porch playing scrabble by the light of the citronella's. The same citronellas that the Mosquitos bit us by! Moo has four bites now. Everyone else has plenty! Huffle sat on his new Executive Seat.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY - fancy having it on the same day here as the UK. I got up and Small and I set the table. We put croissants in the oven, brewed fresh coffee (well for Moo and I as Huffle doesn't drink it!). We gave him our presents (he asked for solar lights for the garden) and he went into the pantry to test them!

It's freaky, he looks so much like Small!

We got ourselves ready and drove to a local beach (not the one we have a good walk to, but the one with the park). There were storms threatening for the afternoon so we wanted to go somewhere where we could get back in the car easily.

When we arrived there were cars parked along the road for miles. There was a festival for the community. Everything was free. We could have had breakfast if we wanted. There were vendor stalls and food stalls. We went onto the beach where no one else was.

It was warm but dull. Normally you can see the CN Tower but today it was just a blurry line!

There was a lot of log jumping and log balancing.

Pretending to be a tightrope walker. I said I could easily walk across Niagara on a tightrope, Huffle said "you couldn't even cross the Soar!". PAH (that was our local river back home!).

....... A bit of paddling......

...of standing on rocks......

....watching the waves.........

.....oh a tree........

So we sat on it - SMILE

...then sat on another one

Moo ("make sure my face is okay!")

Two little boys standing on a bridge

Here he is - The Father

C'mon Moo, come on the bridge with us - ahhh five minutes peace!

You can't believe it's not a sea (HB!)

We walked around the stalls. There wasn't a lot there, apparently there are fireworks this evening.

Smallest went on the bouncy slide. They both went on the Bungee Run and met the Giant Tiger Mascot.

They had their faces painted.

We got a frisbee, a couple of tattoos, some vouchers. And then went for a walk along the coastal path. Not too far because it was getting sticky hot.

By the time lunchtime came, it was even hotter and we were hungry. We decided to take Huffle for Fish and Chips in Whitby!

Moo had her first fish in about 30 years. Good Girl. She ate about a third of it which isn't bad.

We drove home, the boys were 'silly as ships' in the back with Moo.

Once home we played baseball, basketball and general running about. Moo and I played a bit more scrabble on the porch whist Huffle spoke to his Mum and Dad on Skype.

The boys went to bed - hot and sticky night. Storm on the way. The grown-ups sat on the porch (citronella candles ready) eating tea, playing scrabble. The storm came, the rain came down in rivers!!

I have just had an email from the realtor who sold us this house. When we bought it she said the Previous owner would come back and open up the pool for us so we could see how it was done. She came by a few weeks ago and asked if we were ready to open it. WE WERE! She said she would get in touch with the previous owner. She did. She told us he didn't want to do it (he was uncomfortable) but would send someone else, that he had rung them and they would ring us to arrange a time. Now she is emailing to say that he can't find anyone to do it. It would normally cost $250 to get a company to come out! We emailed the realtor back and told her to tell the previous owner to forget it and that we would sort it ourselves. I can't stand it when people say they will do something and then they don't! REALLY ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

Ha, she has just rang me! She doesn't want bad feeling. I said the previous owner was uncomfortable because of the problem with the pump when we first moved in. She said Yes to be honest it was. OMG the man has no backbone! Before we moved in we heard he said to someone else we knew "who is this big shooter from the UK". He he he , he's scared of the big shooter, peeeuuw peeeeeuw (that's the sound of Huffle's shooter, shooting!).
