Garage Sale

Today was the annual Garage sale in our Hamlet. It started at 8am and ended at 12. We got up early but not that early. We were out and about by 10am. It seemed we were the only ones walking at first. Everyone else was in their cars (sooo lazy!). We decided not to take part this year as we live away from the main part of the Hamlet and no-one walks up this way unless there are a few different houses up here taking part. We decided we would do it next year.

We did well. We walked all the way round the Hamlet, seeing parts we hadn't seen much of before. We bought some solid shelves for Smallest's room ($25), a set of golf clubs in a golf bag for Small ($10), Smallest picked up a free magazine, Huffle bought 16 plants for $20, I bought an old Turine for 75c, we bought a basketball hoop for $20, Baseball Mitt for Smallest ($3 + three balls) and two large wicker chairs with cushions ($75). Bargain!

Turine (is that what it's called?)

Catchers mitt and baseballs

The new hoop, base filled with water. It was very heavy. The owner brought it round for us in their truck.

The basket can be raised as the boys get Taller.......

.......or lowered as Huffle and I shrink

Our new chairs. There is a cushion and it's not Smallest!

We stopped along the way for homemade lemonade and cookies and walked back home. It was very very warm and sticky.

When we got back Huffle went off in the car (like everyone else) and picked up the plants, shelves and chairs.

We skyped Moo and she told us that she has had to take things out of her luggage as she overweight (not her but her bags!). I had sent her a message to say I had just finished my lemon curd! There is a lot she is leaving behind until next time.

After we had lunch on the front porch we decided to work out where our next flower bed would be. Smallest helped to place the plants where he thought they should go, until I told him we wouldn't be able to mow around them if he put them in the lawn! Then Huffle mowed the grass.

Drew came round (she is a Landscape Gardener) and we asked her advice. She sat and drank lemonade with us and we chatted about neighbours, gardening and the boys.

We ordered a pizza in as it was getting late and watched a movie whilst eating it. The boys carried on watching TV while we sat on the porch. Still hot although it did rain quite a lot earlier. I think there is more rain due and maybe a storm.

It's a tureen used for soup/stews usually.

Sounds like a fab garage sale with plenty of bargains

I went on a hen do yesterday so feeling a bit tired today even though i was home and in bed by 8pm after not feeling well for most of this week. The sun is out at the minute - not sure how long for though so must get some gardening done you are putting me to shame!

It seems small for soups or stews unless its for dainty ladies!
Saw hen do on Facebook and Huffle wanted me to comment and ask if it was a gypsy hen do (because of the hummer limo! He he)
Thanks for commenting xx

Sorry it was him Indoors not me but the limo, tiaras, you have to wonder. Were you much your own cocktails?

Yes we made our own cocktails under supervision! However the ones I had were pretty grim, they were sour despite adding sugar syrup (Eeek don't tell mrs weightwatchers) x
