You like All Barry's*

I noticed more strangeness in our 'cottage' other than the weird chairs sitting in the window holes. Our bedroom has no door and just leads from the corridor and there is no full wall between our bedroom and Smallest's. I tried to take a photo but not sure it quite shows the weirdness. We wonder if there are plans to do something else with the house. We also have a door and French doors in our room that lead outside. Could it have been two houses before? Whatever! It's still 100% cleaner than last year's place.

Smallest has a very red patch near his eye and Small has rather pink cheeks. So this morning we took it very easy and had a very slow, game playing, golf watching half of a day. After making a picnic for our evening tea, we drove down to a pharmacy to get after-sun products for healing and went in search of dinner (all the while staying out of the fierce sun). I hate it when the kids get burnt as I feel responsible but it's really hard keeping them out of the lake when they are having so much fun. It's so cooling in there, you almost forget how hot it is. Still, it's a lesson to us today and we will be extra careful from now on. At least it shows the kids we mean it when we say "put on more cream, put on a top, keep your hat on, stay in the shade".

Our dinner choice was a good one. I had a Salmon Burger (though I don't understand why they didn't just grill a piece of salmon as there didn't seem to be anything else in it), the boys had Spaghetti Bolognese (though were disappointed because they ordered Meatballs which they were out of of) and Huffle had Lamb, Beef and Chicken Sliders (his favourite being the lamb and least favourite Chicken because he thought they should have used chicken and not minced it into a burger).

It's really apple juice. Our dinner place sign (amusing to British people only). Cricket, swimming and paddling

We eventually got onto the beach (same as yesterday) at 3pm and stayed there until 9pm. We were hoping to see the sunset but those silly clouds got in the way. At first the kids were afraid to go in the water as they thought that was why they got caught badly in the sun yesterday. After lots of talking and extra sun cream applied plus Aloe Vera, hats and tops, they were in. We all swam and played, started a sand castle, played lots of cricket and a some football. We seemed to cause a stir with our game of cricket as people were walking past. Some of them stopped and stared, some commented and some were so oblivious in their own little worlds that they actually stopped and ruined our game while they walked their dog in and out of us.

The picnic was wheeled on after a walk to the ice cream shop in two's again. Small and I walked together, assessed both shops and decided which had the better flavours and sat and ate and chatted before walking back to the car, getting the body boards out (whoops still no waves Mrs Rumbleskins) and walking back to the beach in order to let Huffle and Smallest go off for their walk, ice cream and chat.

Espresso Flake and Chocolate Fudge Brownie

More cricket, more swimming and football and then time for tea while the sun went down.

Lots of sun going down photos
Poor Smallest did not like his yoghurt (because it had bits in). Huffle is not dancing, he has just kicked a ball!!!!

Nice day today. Tomorrow temperatures should get a bit cooler and there may be a wobble of a Storm tonight (no basement here Huffle!!!).

*whilst eating our yogurts Huffle protested that he had to have an All Berry one to accommodate everyone else's choice and I said "well you like All Barry's" instead of All Berrys. He then listed all the Barry's he did like and found there was only one he didn't much care for and that was Barry from Eastenders (and that was just his character).
