We're going on a three hour trek

It is PA day at school so the boys are home with us.  Smallest made a picture for Moo's birthday.

Today, we decided to take HB for a walk in the forest.  (makes her sound like a dog, not a cousin he he he)  It was 1* but chilly.

The forest floor was full of snow, some crunchy, some icy, some little bits muddy.

The walk started with the boys picking up sticks (of course they did) and hitting each other, Small dramatically diving and crying and then grumbling for about ten minutes.  Once we were all friends again, we walked, and jumped and ran and chatted and laughed, and shouted and screamed and rolled.

We looked at trees (obviously, I was there!!).  We tried a new path.  We walked further than we have walked in that forest before.  We had a picnic on a pile of tree trunks and branches. (it was lunch time!!!!).

It snowed a little bit.  Then it snowed a lot.  Small saw a red tailed hawk.  We heard things that we couldn't identify.  We heard lots of birds but couldn't really see them.  Then we saw a load of really tiny birds, all together, flying, sitting at the tops of the trees and chirruping at us.

No you can't!

We seemed to walk for miles and almost out the other side of the forest.  It was good fun.  We gave the boys a bag each and asked them to fill them with cool things they found.  The idea being that they made a picture when we got back.  But everyone was so tired when we got home.

The things they found will be made into something at some point I'm sure.

HB packed her case.  The boys watched a movie and I did some washing and blogged with a cup of tea.

 Then mid afternoon we had a blizzard of snow.  This photo does not do it justice.

Then half an hour later it had stopped - just like that!

Yesterday we bought some pizza dough so we decided to make pizzas for dinner.

They were amazing.

HB skyped Aunt Pear who was up very late (had been out bowling and may have had a tipple or two!).

ClownRose popped by to say hello to HB.  I had a trip out to the Liquor Store and left HB babysitting.  I spied them through the window to make sure they were behaving.

We had two more games of Monopoly Deal.  Huffle won one and Small won two.  maaaaan.

We would like to say Get Well Soon to Uncle Dermott who had an op this morning and is now recovering. Xxxx
