Get that Grurmer Thing!*

2am and we were woken by the smallest person in the house having had a bad dream and crawling in to bed with us. Then for the next ten minutes he coughed like a seal. Finally he went back to his room, I gave him water and a cuddle and he settled down. However I could still hear him coughing for ages after. When he got up this morning, I could tell he wasn't 100%. He had one red cheek but was pale and he had poorly eyes.

Small went off to school. Smallest's friend (Blur) mum rang to see if Smallest wanted to play this morning and I said they could play here because she had them at hers on Saturday. As soon as his mum had dropped him off, he jumped up on to the work surface and tried to get a biscuit out of the glass jar (it was 9am). Moo was shocked and made him get down. I don't think Smallest was feeling in as silly a mood as Blur was. They went from Table Tennis to Wii to TV to playing in his bedroom within the first 20 minutes. They were like whirlwinds!

The kids attacking Moo while she was limboing under their lightsabers!

Moo and I tried to ignore them and let them just play (noisily) and we took all the ornaments off the tree and wrapped them and boxed them up. All Christmas decorations are now down except the baubles in the front Urns which are frozen! We will have to wait until the 10* this weekend to thaw them out.

The boys had a falling out and Smallest said Blur didn't want to be here anymore so I took him to DayCare (while I was getting ready they were friends again!). I dropped him off and came home to get Moo and Smallest. We drove to a doctors about 20 minutes away who are taking on new patients. We sat and filled in four forms. Apparently, the system here means that they decide from our application forms if they might want us to be their patients. Then they ring us and we have an interview. We can then decide if we want them to be our doctor and they decide about us too. Phew, complicated way to get a doctor. Also I think we are tied in for about 2 years. Anyway, they will ring us in about a weeks time (or they won't ring us and that means they don't want us!). We passed a lovely tree trunk we have seen before with Bears carved into it. Smallest wanted to show Moo.

We had lunch at the White Feather Country Store which is always an experience. Plenty of opportunities to People Watch. Moo was very pleased with her bagel in a plastic basket and Smallest loved his Bacon Beard!

After lunch we had a look around the shop and then Smallest went on the park and sat on the tractors. When we were at the doctors earlier it was really warm and yet at the park it felt like minus 10. It was really exposed and cold.

We came home. Smallest sat on the sofa with his blanket and watched the TV. Moo and I had a scone and played a game of scrabble (she won). Smallest had a slight temperature so he had medicine and I contemplated taking him to the doctors. He played on the IPad for a bit while we waited for Small to come home.

Moo and I played Table Tennis (she beat me!!!). Smallest's temperature came down slightly and the boys and I played on the Wii while I cycled. Moo sewed on more badges and watched us. Then we got dinner. Huffle came home. Today we had our chestnut soup (yum) and omelette.

The boys are going to bed early tonight as their eyes are like little peep holes. We have just found out that the school is on strike again on Friday. So both boys off! Their swimming lessons start This Friday so at least they will have something to do!

EDIT. We have just had a call from the doctors. They have approved us to be interviewed. Smallest and I go next Monday. Huffle has to ring tomorrow and see if he and Small can get an appointment when convenient. YAY.

* Smallest and Blur were shooting Moo with the lightsabers and Moo was running away. Blur shouted "quick Smallest, get that Grurmer thing (meaning Moo), then he called her PurpleShirt.

And my favourite photo of the day.......

This is a story about how Chelsea in New York are getting wifi so that residents and tourists can get the Internet. YES, NOW WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF NEW YORK. We were amazed at how little wifi there was available when we were there. Did I mention we went? Need some pictures?

Somewhere between Central Park and Guggenheim

Water Hydrant

Central Park reservoir

A church next to Guggenheim

Sunshine on buildings

I think this was in Bryant Park.

We have photos of grandad on tractors when he was little, the tractors even look the same. Hope Smallest gets better soon and you all get accpted for docs, fingers xd it's a good practice. have you got your questions ready when you interview them, is it the doc who does the interview, hope so. Interesting system. As for NY photos, didnt even know Central Park had a lake!
