Every Tuesday since the boys went back to school, it has rained. Every single Tuesday except for two weeks (when Jan was on holiday). This means every week when we get to the Nursery to work, we get wet. This week it did rain but not until the afternoon so today we got lots of chopping done. We cleared loads. We had to stop early for coffee as MrsM had to go out and wanted to have coffee with us. The cats were busy playing with the grasses we were chopping and all narrowly missed having their tails cut off! I think we were taking away their dens. That is the end of working for this year. Back mid February if the weather is okay for work in the greenhouse. What will I do with my Tuesday mornings now?
Lovely seed heads from the Nursery
Huffle worked from home so I got to have lunch with him. Dinner was made yesterday (Spanokopita - Aunt Pear, this is a Greek filo pastry filled with Feta Cheese and Spinach - one of Small's favourites) by mistake so I got on with knitting instead, well mainly undoing!
The boys came home. Smallest was very upset. He had been told off several times today for things that weren't his fault. Running to get on the bus (whose fault could that be?), losing his snack when someone took it from him and falling over in Gym!?! Huffle and I are convinced he is not feeling well as he is getting upset about silly things. This is normally a warning sign for us that he is coming down with something. Small practised his piano and they both did their homework. Again Smallest got upset because he got his rough work wrong. It took a lot of soothing to get him happy again. Silly little bear. Both boys have won a prize for their artwork on their Rememberance Day posters. That's good, however, we have to go to the Rememberance Day Ceremony to see them get awarded. We went last year and it was very very long and we said we wouldn't go again. The awards are right at the end too. The boys have to go as part of the Scouts/Beavers. I guess we have to go too now.
Dinner was mainly a success and with the spare filo pastry I made lemon curd and raspberry parcels - these went down very well. Small helped Smallest with his piano practice.
Today we were advised that we have been accepted as Permanent Residents of Canada. This means that we don't have to rely on Huffle's work permit now to stay here. I now have the right to work (Smallest asked "does Mummy HAVE to work?"). It puts us on the path to Citizenship if that's what we choose to do. In order to get our Permanent Resident Cards though we have to leave Canada for the day and come back in to get our papers stamped. This is a ridiculous thing to have to do but we have decided to make a weekend of it and drive to somewhere in America. We haven't decided where yet but we don't want to go too far!

Drive to Miami to see Cousin Pest! And stand at the remembrance service and remember. x
"Drive to Miami", lol! That's not too far at all, you can do that in a weekend! You could come to Michigan but it would be 5 hours to the border from your house. Probably quickest to go to Niagara and cross into Buffalo, see the Falls from the other side and then come back again. We did the permanency thing a few years ago and we're on our second green card now. You should also have a lot less hassle at the airports too as you should be able to join the citizens line and not the terrorists, weirdos and visitors line!!
Hugs
