Baking, Badges and Boozeless Party

2* today. Quite balmy for a December day in Canada. The boys played with cardboard tubes whilst waiting for the bus (a bit like sword fighting. They were laughing so it couldn't have been bad!). Huffle got up late as he set the alarm for 7pm instead of 7am, silly billy. He went to work today as it was his office party in the evening. He didn't get back until 9:45pm - the dirty stop out (though he did sneak out earlier than he should). In Canada Office parties are a little different to the English ones we have been to in the past. Here you are encouraged to drink responsibly or not at all and are given a taxi chit if you happen to get 'into difficulties'. Each employee is given two tokens for their free drinks. Huffle had a coke and a chamomile tea. Ooooh he really let his hair head down.

I went to knitting. There was a full table there today. There was a lot of consoling done today rather than knitting as El had had some bad news. We decided to all stay for lunch too and ordered in Fish and Chips. Mid afternoon and we finally came away.

At home I made a start on the birthday cake I had to make for tomorrow. The cake went in the oven, the kids came home, swimming kit was packed and the cake came out of the oven just in time for us to leave.

Somehow, somewhere at swimming we lost Smallest's kit including his towel with all his badges on! Hopefully we left it in reception (I left a message for them to ring me if they find it). It was a long hour and three quarters and it was so warm in there. Still, Smallest got his badge 7 after three/four goes. Well done Smallest, you worked hard and deserved it. Small also finished his and got a Bronze Star badge and a bronze star medal. He is well on his way to becoming a lifesaver/instructor now although he can't do the next step until he is 12 so we have to find him something to do in the meantime. Good job Small, very proud of you.

At home the boys ate soup and cheesey bread whilst watching Fred Clause on the IPad and then on the TV when they finished their soup. I got on with the cake and finally finished it at 9pm. In between time the kids took themselves off to bed - they have been very good today so I have cancelled the adoption!

It took me another 3/4 hour to tidy up my mess by which time Huffle was home and we had a cup of tea, shared our news and watched TV before bed. Ahhhhhhhh the weekend, thank goodness.

When we see your bid, we may reconsider - which one did you bid for? Attitude or sensitive? X

Just different (we have learnt to say that about everything). No not even Malibu but he was driving. I'll give him a Malibu later x
