Woke up this morning to big fat snowflakes falling. I tried to take a photo but it doesn't show up well.
HB, Smallest and I walked to the library. Well Smallest scooted through the snow. It was -2* but felt much much colder.
We got there in time for 'Story Time' but the lady who told the stories wasn't really holding the children's attention so Smallest went off to look for books. He coloured in a picture for HB to take home.
I found a book on birds in Ontario so I can tell Moo and Unc Pear what birds I have seen. Saw a Red Cardinal again today (but in next doors' garden).
The librarian (who loves Smallest) has just come back from Florida (and knowing that we are all going next weekend) asked Smallest if he knew what money they had in England, he said "pounds". She asked him what money they had in Canada, he said "dollars" then she produced two $1 dollar bills (US) and said "this is the money you need in America where you are going, and I want you to take one for yourself and give the other to your brother". She said that they weren't much but she wanted them to have them. Ahhhh how sweet.
HB sat and read a magazine.
We walked to the local cafe and sat at our normal table. The waitress came over and said "do you want your usual today?". Wow, we haven't been in that much have we? We introduced HB to Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. She likes them.
We scooted and walked home. HB took some photos of the sheep that live in the village so we took a photo of her taking a photo of them!
Smallest picked up a fir cone and pretended it was his nose. His 'nose' fell off and he told us this really long winded tale about how he had to go to the hospital to get a new one and how the put it on using Snow Wrap, and how good he was, and how they gave him 5,000 stickers...........
As we got onto our drive, smallest shouted "first one in the house gets some chocolate!" so HB and I ran into the house and got there first. He didn't like this and grumped off down the garden.
We called in on KP. She made us some tea and we sat and chatted while Smallest explored her house and looked for the cats to play with. He showed HB around.
Then we drove to the supermarket and browsed and bought a few bits for dinner tonight and tomorrow.
Smallest found a seat under the trolley
HB gave Smallest a lesson on how to put his seatbelt on as we spend an awful lot of time putting it on for him! he says "I'm only four you know!" but he knows how to do it really, lazy!
Small came home from school and we had a Pile On (family tradition) when Small fell on the floor in a dramatic heap!
We had to have two games of Monopoly Deal. Small won both times!
MOO's birthday tomorrow. We sent her a Santa Video where he wished her a Happy Birthday. he he he he - we forgot about that, we set it up at Christmas.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOO. Hope you have a lovely day xxxxxxxxxxx
