Little Drummer Boys

My friend, Everett, sent me this picture after I mentioned on the blog that I wanted a Polar Bear. Looks cute eh? But the picture afterwards of what the bear did to the man was not so good. Maybe I'll stick to looking at them in the zoo?

Last night Huffle found some pews being given away on Kijiji. We thought we could have one for the front porch and maybe one in the three seasons room. We emailed them but they were only giving them away in 10's or 20's. We thought about hiring a truck and bringing ten back, maybe selling some but in the end we thought it might be too much trouble. We weren't sure whether we could drive a truck on our licences, whether the pews were in a good enough condition, whether we could store them, and knowing our luck something would go wrong along the way, so we left it. They are not that great to sit on anyway, but they do look nice.

Huffle I had to open a window last night as it was too warm (first time since we moved here), it was weird waking to the different bird noises.

A foggy day. Should have got to 15* but seemed to stay at around 6-8* disappointingly.

After breakfast we went to the Country Fair (up to today it was called a flea market, don't know why it's name changed because it is exactly the same). We didn't find anything of interest there.

We went to a DIY store as we needed car washing stuff, ie buckets, sponges, cleaner and stuff for decorating Small's room.

Smallest Sade himself a den with the things we out in trolley!

We had dinner out (well it is Grandmas birthday and we know she was out celebrating). Came home and skyped Grandma and Grandad. We sang to Grandma (which was lovely ahem!). Grandma read a book to the boys. I cleaned the stove.

Grandma reading a book about a granny and an elephant.

Huffle and the boys cleaned the cars.

There has been a plethora of wildlife in the garden today. We saw a cardinal high in a tree. Another tree full of starlings. Wilberforce the Woodpecker came with one of his friends, Willermena. Alvin the chipmunk came to feed on the bird nuts. We had robins on the lawn. Loads of little chickadees have visited too. Huffle thinks a 'creature' has been living in one of his Wellies!

Just above the bird feeder is Wilberforce
Left corner of the window is Alvin

Right corner of the window is Alvin going 'home'

Is this Alvin, Simon or Theodore? I don't know them enough to tell which is which. But he sat there while Huffle stood there gesturing me to come over with my camera and let me take a photo. Cheeky Chipmunk!

Mr Burlington Bertie gained more fame last night (he is already famous for his acting skills near where he lives!) when he went to watch the show "whose live anyway". He got to stand up and improvise with Ryan Stiles (a big favourite of mine and Huffles) and Greg Proops (not so favourite). We are very jealous as we used to watch 'Whose Line is it Anyway' all the time, and have scoured YouTube for videos of Mr B's standup but haven't found any yet.

This was left on our doorstep this afternoon. It is an invitation to a party (just us and the ClownFamily) for St Patricks Day. Inspector Cluseau (ClownRose's husband) is Irish (somewhere in his family) so it's our excuse to eat and drink.

We all went over to the Clown house and had a lovely time. Lots of nibbles and drinks. Plenty of chat. Great amount of laughing. We discovered a drum set in their basement and everybody had a go.

They were really good. I think they will be back for some lessons soon. A very good time was had by all. Small said we should do this more often, maybe once a month. Everyone agreed.

We would of course like to wish a Happy Birthday to Grandma.

Hope she had a lovely day x
