Wresting v Nudity

I didn't wake up until 9am - wow that never happens. Wahoooo. Huffle though didn't sleep well between 12 and 3pm. Oh dear.

After breakfast, Huffle and Small took a long time making and printing a tee-shirt for their wrestling evening. Smallest and I created a banner for them to take with them.

Midday ish we drove to Pickering and found a fabulous Pizza Place called PIE. The Wimbledon final was playing and we saw the last set and Djokovic win. Along with this we all had some amazing pizzas and toppings. Huffle had a Proscuitto and Arugula (rocket to the UK's), Moo and I shared a Pesto, Pear, Caramalised Onion and Walnut and a Veggie one. We had to take them home as they were too big. Definitely be a place to go again.

Huffle then drove us to Downtown Toronto where he dropped Moo and I off at the harbour and him and the boys went on to the Ricoh Centre a bit further along. Their story later....

Moo and I joined the queues, which were very very long, for the Toronto Islands Ferries. We stood patiently in line with everyone else and eventually paid for our tickets which we then handed to a lady who didn't even look at it. We then waited patiently in line for the ferry, unlike everyone else who barged in, used up our personal space (which we told them about) and barged their bicycles into us. The ferry was very busy but we got on (we chose to use the Centre Island Ferry as we wanted to hire bikes). We picked our place to stand so we could see Toronto's skyline as we edged away. It was really breezy and sometimes just a little bit cool! 15 minutes later and we were there, pushing our way through the hordes of people.

After a brief walk we got to another big queue for the bikes. Just $10 and an ID card gets you a bike (or two) and then you pay by the hour when you bring the bike back. Moo wanted to choose her own bike and was disappointed she didn't get the one she wanted.

The bikes were very low seated but comfy (at the beginning anyway) but with no brakes. Well they did have brakes but you have to pedal backwards, which is a most unusual thing to do when cycling. It means when you get on you can't spin the pedals to the correct place and if you freewheel it sometimes stops you mid cycling (as Moo found out!).

My bike didn't have a working bell so I used my voice PING PING which was quite funny. Most people did move but some of them I had to use my big outside voice to get them to move. We had downloaded a guide to the Islands earlier so we cycled to Wards Island first. This is where the people live. It is a funny little place and before today I always thought I might like to live there. I have now changed my mind. It is full of tiny little streets (no cars are allowed), lots of small ramshackle houses (I believe there are nicer ones but we didn't see them). Some had lovely gardens but most of them were a bit of a shabby, not what I expected at all and the reason I don't want to live there is because joe public are allowed in and around everywhere, peering in a their gardens, looking in the windows. We passed the harbour, a noisy pub, a cafe and a beach. Our cycling took us along the Boardwalk which made poppety-creak noises which was very comforting, though I did wonder if the boards might break and knock us off our bikes (they didn't).

The Boardwalk took us back to Centre Island where we cycled along and then decided to try out some Funnel Cake (fried bits of dough squished together with strawberry, icing sugar and ice cream). We managed to sit by the lake to eat this but hurried it a bit as our time on the bikes was soon running out.

More cycling along the beach towards Hanlans Island. Here we saw the Gibralter Point Lighthouse, said to be haunted. A nice brick lighthouse, now missing its lighthouse keepers house. From there we cycled on a bit and then turned round and raced back, ping pinging all the way, to the bike rental place. We thought the shop closed at 6pm bit it didn't. Never mind we had a lot of fun and I ended the rental by cycling straight into the Returns Hut (literally). It made the man laugh though and he said it was the best bit of his day.

Leaving our bikes we walked back towards the lighthouse and then made our way to Gibralter Point and then on to Hanlans Point where we knew the Nudist/Gay beach was. We were following a couple who were well dressed and we wondered if they too were looking for the nudist beach, along with the Jewish couple in front of them.

We found the beach and it was indeed nudy. In fact we saw several bums (and I'm not talking homeless people here) and a Winky! I did have to point (indiscreetly) at the Winky so Moo could see it and then we were off. THATS ENOUGH OF THAT!!! Though before we got there Moo did say "well are we going to have a gander then?"

More walking and we ended up at this island's Ferry point. We were so close to the Rogers Centre and CN tower (well over the water but very close). We joined another queue and a ferry turned up. A much smaller one this time and it allowed a car and lots of bicycles. 15 minutes later and we were back on the other side.

First stop was coffee which we drank on the harbour. We were getting messages all the time from Huffle trying to tell us what time we would meet, however my phone ran out of charge and we ended up in a hotel where they very kindly put it on charge for me at the Concierge Desk. Moo and I sat and chatted and looked at maps and then went to pick up my phone but the Concierge desk was closed until 8am - arrrgggh. A minor panic and then the front desk found it for me, phew. Moo and I walked along to the big ship, eating our Beets and Sweets, waiting for Huffle and the boys to appear. Finally they did and we all went home. The boys were full of their adventure and had a fabulous time.

HUFFLE'S STORY

We arrived early and parked under the venue. With two hours to spare we had a walk to find out what Ontario place was as I've always wanted to have a nose around the area. We walked past Toronto football club, and onto the Indy track. Then we found Ontario place which looks like a disused theme park on an island. Not sure why it's disused as it's in a prime waterfront spot, no doubt something will pop up there in due course. So it was decided to head back towards the venue past some obscure club restaurant bar in the middle of a park. Seemed a bit bizarre that people were boogieing away in the early afternoon of a Sunday. There was a second very loud club that was I think around a lido. There were lots of people queuing so it was obviously an 'in' place. It was very loud, not sure you'd be able to hear yourself swim. Finally back at the venue there was another queue. I sniffed that this was celebrity spotting so we joined in and were immediately rewarded with Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton and the 'usohs' coming past. After spending a little more time with the weirdos in the crowd we decided it was time to get to our seats.

After successfully smuggling our bags of sweets in we found our seats in the arena used for Toronto's 2nd ice hockey team. A couple of bouts went past and I told the boys that we would move to some vacant better seats much nearer the ring. This proved to be an excellent move as it was a free upgrade and it turned out that one of the 'shield' would enter the ring straight past us, which the boys loved.

The wrestlers were the Usohs. Bray whyatt. Randy Orton. Natalia (yes female wrestlers, what has the world come to). Dolph zigglar. Ruvez. Great carline the giant (and he was so big he struggled to walk, close to a freak show) Fandango with his Wiggly dancing and lady friend, The miz. Chris Jericho. Randy Orton. Roman reins. Stardust, gold-dust rybavksol axle. John cena, Bray Wyatt and the other Wyatts, cobi Kingston, cesaro

The last bout was John Cena v Bray Wyatt with the hero winning in the end which pleased small and smallest.

FAMFA EDIT - DEFINITELY A GOOD DAY WAS HAD BY ALL.
