Bikes, Beach, Park and Pool

Yesterday I decided that, whatever the weather, we were going out today. Huffle went to work noisily and I got up to the boys watching bugs life (because bugs life is part of the Disney monopoy board and they already had ideas about playing it).

Outside looked cool, dark and dreary and I offered the boys three options : 1. long bike ride along the waterfront trail, 2. bikes, beach and park or 3. forest. They chose no2.

Then it rained but we still stuffed the bikes in the Car (we need a bike carrier!!). We also packed a picnic and the boys swimming stuff in case the weather got worse so they could go to the indoor swimming pool.

Three bikes stuffed in my boot!

When we arrived at the beach we realised we had left small's cycling helmet behind so we decided on just a gentle cycle to the marina. However the road was blocked due to construction so our bike ride was cut even shorter as I didn't want to risk us riding on the road with all the heavy lorries.

We had our lunch under cover of a pavilion next to the lake watching the boats come out of the fog.

Smallest decided we hadn't done enough exercise so we went on the outside gym before the boys went on the park and I walked along the beach.

There was only a smattering of people there as it was cool but the sun did come out and it started to get more humid (storms were forecast for all day).

After a biscuit on the beach we packed up the car and went off to swimming. It wasn't open when we arrived - must remember it starts at 2:15 - 4:15 for future.

It got quite busy but I like it here because the boys can play, swim, go down the slide and use the lazy river and I just watch aaaahhhhhhhh.

Two hours later and we came away (hopefully they have had enough exercise today, yesterday they weren't sleepy at bedtime at all).

Huffle and I almost got home at the same time and after we cobbled a dinner together, we sat and watched the final part of Harry Potter. Smallest is now reading the first Harry Potter book so once he is finished we can start the films all over again. Hurrahhhhh.

Tonight we get to watch The Great British Bake Off so I defrosted some scones to have with our tea later whilst we are watching he he he.
