PA day - Pa stays at home

Temperatures started out at -22* (-26* windchill). Small and I slept in but Huffle and Smallest got up early. Smallest watched TV and Huffle went to the bunker. We had a slow beginning of a morning before heading off to Suffolks house for a day of board games and sledging fun. We arrived mid morning and the 3 boys played on the wii. The little girls did homework and got their bags ready for a party and an overnight stay while the big girls drank tea, looked at lovely quilting and chatted. We played a game of S'quarrels, had some lunch and then played Backpacker. The boys played a bit more on the wii and then we went for a sledge over at the nearby park.

It was a lot of fun but not a huge slope so it was perfect for all of us. We stayed there for about an hour and then came back.

The boys and I drove home in time for a hot Chocolate, a biscuit and a collect of all things swimming. While we were out Huffle was in charge of setting the pizza dough mixing in the bread machine but it had gone all wrong so I stayed behind and made some more and prepared the toppings while Huffle took the kids swimming.

At first there was only Smallest in his lesson but after a while the other one turned up. Smallest got told "don't hit the other instructors" when he was caught hitting one with a noodle because the instructor was throwing noodles at him. Naughty boy, but Huffle informed me it was funny.

We had our pizza whilst watching The Room on the Broom (A favourite story of ours when the kids were little), followed by the start of Mr Peabody and Sherman.

Tomorrow I am sitting at home and knitting this car - love it.

The forecast for this weekend is supposed to get to -41* with the windchill. Now that's cold!
