Eccentric Hour 2-3*

Silly us, forgot the clocks went back last night and we all got up far too early. It was a long day.

Huffle found some Snowboard Boots plus board, bindings and bag on Kijiji and decided we would go and check them out via a day out at The Beaches. We should have sent the kids to the Remembrance Service for Scouts and Cubs but we gave them this year off (they have been fours years in a row, it is very long and boring and we have other ways of remembering other than siting in a room listening to people talk, preach and sing).

We left around 11am and drove the 50 minutes drive along the old road instead of the highway. We made good time and parked up and stayed in the car while Huffle went in and tried on the boots and looked at the rest. He was happy and bought them. Now Small can have Huffle's old boots for a year and then maybe these new ones next year. The board is nice but the bindings are excellent. We parked the car and walked along the boardwalk until we were too hungry to walk anymore and left the beach to come to the Main Street.

My favourite Beaches Tree, snow fence, the boys and THAT sky!
Ball bouncing until I trod on it and broke it. Beautiful blue sky, finding a fairy door and hand painted tiles

Dinner was in a pub after considerable walking to find it. It was okay, nothing special but it provided what we needed and we then made our way back through the park, along the boardwalk again and on to the beach.

Very sparkly water
Cowboy, skimming and the CN Tower

After the boardwalk, we picked up a treat and walked across the beach and onto another park where we sat and watched the water, paddle boarder, ran around and played on the gym equipment.

Some silliness
Beautiful sky, trees and scenery

*when we first arrived there were a multitude of Greyhounds and their owners. I didn't realise there were THAT many in Toronto. All were going the same way too which made us think that it was dog walking hour. Then later we realised there was a sign stating that dogs could be let off their leads past the fenced area between the dates of November 1 and March 31st. Obviously this is a time when the beach is less popular and people and their dogs were certainly taking advantage of the beach. Around about 2pm we started to see some interesting and eccentric people emerge. Dogs were petty much gone and out came the bubble lady, slow jog no shoes man, unicyclist, short legged three dogged man, berets in abundance, bagpiper, lady leg stretcher, huge photographer, family of tiny Peruvians with one giant family member wearing urban wear.......and much more besides.

Bubble lady who stood right next to a couple eating on the rocks, then came over and nearly dripped her bubble mix on my head and wandered off down ten beach bursting her huge bubbles on people's head. LOOK AT MEEEEEEE
On the way home we followed a micro lite
