Fall Festival Falls Flat

A full nights sleep for all. Hurrah. Aunty A sent me an email to say she was back safely, washing her laundry and off to the hairdressers. We will miss you AA.
All bedding was washed and we decided to wash all our 'friends' too.

Bootsy Bear hung out to dry.

Larry, Piglit and Gunkey

Today was a cloudy day which promised 50% chance of rain. Grandma and Grandad skyped us with news of their visit for potentially early October. Small had a shower. Smallest and a bath. I read my book.

Small and I played Ticket to Ride............

I won but only just. He plays really well.

Then we all got ready and went out. We went to a local towns' Fall Festival. It took us a while to get there because we drove around and about. We parked up, heard the noise coming from a field and walked towards it. There wasn't an awful lot for us to see really. A few stalls, some cakes for sale. A police car and a handful of policemen. One of them asked Smallest if he wanted to sit in the car. He said we would. So he went to climb in the back (there's not a lot of space in there!). The policeman said "bad people sit in the back, is that where you want to be?". "oh no" said Smallest and sat in the front. The policeman then gave him his hat and I gave him Smallest's cap, he didn't put it on. I asked him "did you not want to wear it?". He chuckled and said it was a bit too small. Naughty Mummy!

We didn't buy anything and we didn't stay. Smallest said the bouncy castles were too small for him. Small didn't want to visit the firemen or the policemen - too big for that now! So we came away with the intention of either visiting another Fall Festival somewhere else or going for something to eat. On the way we passed a Farmers Market and stopped. We tasted some Perogies (pasta, potato, cheese and onion things). The boys liked them so we bought some frozen ones.

We had dinner in a cafe. It was more of a breakfasty place but it was all right. We got back in the car and drove along a very up and down road. We stopped when we got to the top of a hill and saw the lake in the distance. This picture does it no justice really but the view was amazing.

Then we saw a lovely little bridge. Don't see many like this around here.

The boys behaved well so we took them to the Mini Golf. I hadn't been there before. There was a lot of people but it was good fun.

Guess what? I won. Again. I eagerly await my second trophy of the weekend (ahem ahem).

We all got to play with different coloured balls. Smallest couldn't decide whether he was right or left handed, Huffle definitely needs some lessons, Small was very impatient and I enjoyed it.

Two courses, one called Shipwreck which was very popular
....and one called Logging Camp which we did.

We managed to sneak an extra few holes in because you can just keep going and no-one notices. However, Small was getting increasingly more impatient and Smallest was getting tired and grumpy.

On this one we had to get the ball between the mans boots (he was sitting on the loo)

We ended up with them both having a grump, Smallest had a tantrum and we gave up. The boys were sat by the grass in the car park and Huffle and I did our best to ignore them for five minutes or so. Then we got them back in the car where Small apologised and they were both quiet for the rest of the journey home. (oh and they missed out on an ice cream too).

When we got home Smallest apologised and went and played on the swing. Small and I played basketball.

Then we all came in. Small and I played Monopoly U Build and Smallest and Huffle played Downfall, Table Football and then fishing game. Huffle declared himself "all-gamed-out" and the boys had their tea and finished their film of Cloudy with a chance of meatballs.

The ironing board came out and a huge pile of ironing was got through. ( by Huffle, though to be fair, they were all his work shirts and tee-shirts). The boys went to bed. Harry Potter was read to Small. Smallest had a library book read to him while he pretended to be his big bear Pooh!

While Aunt Pear and HB have been on holiday in the lovely Sorrento, I have been following their journey via their pictures. Here are some of my favourites.

HB as Pinocchio. Huffle and I love this shop, they are all over Italy. We have bought many things for the boys from here. Lots of lovely wooden things and always a Pinocchio outside.

Lovely Lemons.
