Carrot Pants

Smallest came in to our room at 3am to tell us he was completely blocked up. I suggested he propped his pillow up and I put Vicks on his chest and on a tissue which I slipped into his pillowcase. It worked as he was fine this morning. We had an easy slow morning, finished clearing the basement and went out late morning to go Sledging at the local golf course/farm. As part of the Winter Carnival there was an event there at 1pm. Of course we got there an hour early so we could have some time to ourselves.

We sledged down the main hill for a while before moving ourselves over to 'Beatrix Potter Hill'. The snow was so deep there it was up to my knees and it was hard work trying to gorge a sledge run through it. But we persevered and after a while we were joined by ExerciseNic and her family. We had a go on their SnowTube. Our run was nice and gentle.

We had tears from Smallest when he threw snow in Huffle's face and Huffle returned the favour. To be fair, he was already grumpy with Small for calling him a sucker (which he felt meant not very good!). Once we were joined by the others, everyone was much happier. We were talking about the Winter Olympics and I said to ExerciseNic's husband, "we won a medal". Yes he said "bronze, silver and gold". "Oh No" said I, "when I said we won a medal, I meant WE won one". "Ah I thought you meant we as in Canadian" he said. Ha ha! No not yet!

We were then joined by two of Small's friends and Huffle and I played snowballing with them. I think we won. Small invited them back later for a snowball fight in our garden after dinner.

We were also joined by Smallest's friend Ew and his mum so we were quite a crowd. We obviously looked like we were having too much fun because another family (we didn't know) tried to join us but left soon after when they realised it was too hard to make your own run.

Tired, wet, weary and hungry, we left three hours later and went home to make a Roast Dinner. The boys played nicely together and we had dinner. Small's two friends came over to play outside and in the basement for an hour until their parents picked them up and we had our Blueberry Pie from yesterday, only it wasn't Blueberry, it was Apple and Cinnamon (which is what we DIDN'T want!). Oh well, at least the others liked it.

Ow, Small and Cog.

We all played Scrabble, Yahtzee and Elefun and Huffle and I played Table Tennis while the boys watched Wrestling.

Smallest putting in new batteries.

All tired now! Zzzzzzzzzzzz

The icicles hanging in front of Smallest's window are getting longer and longer!
