Perry goes Large

I was woken by the bloomin' water softener again, this time at 4am. Aarrrgggghhhhh. Huffle didn't sleep well at all. When we woke properly it had snowed and was still snowing. Oh no, not snow already.

It carried on snowing for most of the day but it wasn't a great amount. The sun came out and started to melt it. We skyped Moo and she was disappointed it hadn't waited for her arrival. We skyped Grandma and got to see CousinD's new boots. The signal wasn't good.

We all played on the Wii and then Huffle watched football and ironed his shirts and I went and finished some crafts off.

While we had lunch we watched a bit of a film, then we played Ghostly Galleon and Lego Creationary. Everyone got ready, with thermals, gloves, hats etc. the boys went outside to check if they were warm enough and had a snowball fight too. We had been invited to the Santa Parade at Port Perry and for dinner afterwards at NoCustard's house.

Drew came round and we all went off to Port Perry. It had stopped snowing but it started again just for the parade. It was magical and Christmassy.

Drew (and her tissue face!), Small and Smallest
Waiting for the parade. It was cold
When is it going to start?
The kids got some balloons and then we met up with NoCustard and Umbrella
A couple of marching bands, some floats, a biker church gang, lots of sweets and candy canes
Then he came............Santa.........and he looked over at us and said "another year eh Umbrella?". I said DID HE JUST SAY YOUR NAME? "Oh Yes" said Umbrella, "I know everyone!" WOW. Impressive.

This was our cue to leave. NoCustard and Umbrella went one way and we walked the other armed with lots of sweets and NoCustards address. We found their lovely house. It was very welcoming. We had some homemade soda bread and cheese (Irish Cheese of course), Christmassy music, decorations outside. Lots of chatting. TeaLady's husband, Morton, was there. There were eight of us to dinner. We started with a homemade soup. Tomato and Lentil or Butternut with homemade pumpkin seed bread, then Pulled Pork, Beef Stew, Lentil Loaf and a Brocolli, rice and cheese dish that was heavenly. I ended up coming away with half of the lentil loaf - it was delicious with a homemade chutney. We had a flourless very rich Chocolate cake and orange cake for dessert with raspberries, cream, ice cream. OMG I ate so much, I thought I was going to pop. The kids had a fabulous time. NoCustard had put a bag on the table for them with a pad of paper, pen, pencil and a tube of sweets. They both wrote little notes to say thank you.

The company was brilliant, the food excellent and it was a shame we had to go home to put the kids to bed.

Huffle drove us home, we dropped Drew off, put the kids to bed, had a cup of tea and went to bed ourselves. very Tired!!!

What a nice circle of friends you are getting. Sounded a lovely visit and the food sounded gorgeous. Hope Huffle's work fully appreciated the Stoke scarf on Friday. xx
