Back on Course

Last night, we were all doing the jigsaw. Now some people use a roll up thing to keep their jigsaws together, some just keep it on a board. Some smear it with green jelly - don't they Grandad!!!!!!

Everyone was up at some point in the night. Huffle decided not to go to work today as he wanted to visit the docs to get his throat looked at. He took Grandma with him to get her medication. Aunt Pear had been an absolute star and rang the UK doctors and got the information we needed. All we needed was to get to a doctors here and get them to fax the UK doctor to say that Grandma was sitting in their office. It took them all morning but they came away with a bag full of medication for Grandma but nothing for Huffle. He was prescribed, rest, paracetamol and liquid. They didn't want to let Grandma go until her blood pressure was acceptable (bearing in mind she had had three nights without sleep and the stress of losing her tablets etc).

While Grandma and Huffle were off on their 'Grand Adventure' (she complained last time that she didn't spend enough quality time with Huffle - ha now you have!), Grandad and Smallest got on with 'the big job'.

A few weeks ago, our big gate fell over and broke away from the hinges. We propped it up and taped it a bit (bodged it basically) and waited for the Engineering mind of Grandad. His apprentice, Smallest, was very helpful (though possibly with the help of many wine gums which he fetched from Gandads secret stash). I went and borrowed a screwdriver from Mr Royal and after delivering it to the 'workmen', I went back and had a coffee and a chat with the Royals. When I came back the gate was off completely. They had to go to the Beer Store to get some screws and man stuff!

He was a bit grumpy here because no one was playing football or basketball with him - so I had to play.
There were a few breaks to play Table Ice Hockey, have a cup of tea and a biscuit or two......
And play basketball.
When eventually Mother and Son arrived home, we all stopped and had lunch together. Huffle then had a rest (as ordered by Grandad), Grandma had a snooze and I started a crochet project. Then Huffle and Smallest went and helped Grandad finish off.
They did a lovely job. Thank you Grandad, I'll let you have a beer later for that. While he was working he got a few bites from the Mosquitoes. By evening the bites had got larger and larger. His hand has swollen up, one eye is nearly shut and the are lumps over his face and neck. Damn, we can't enter him into the local pageant now. I did a bit of first aid on him.

"Errrrrr strawberry?"

Sure he will be better tomorrow?!?!?

HB skyped me and we chatted about Uni, her friends, food etc. She seems happy. Grandma skyped Madamme Courvoisier briefly.

We had dinner, pudding, a few drinks, lots of chatter and laughter, the boys played with their Lego, had a go on Club Penguin, watched TV and then went to bed.

Lots of sniffly colds here still.

Huffle is off tomorrow and not back in till Tuesday, so that's nice. I am being taken out tomorrow for a birthday lunch (no children).

He does look a sorry sight, poor grandad, you don't get mozzy bites in Devon! Glad grandma's tabs kicking in and the blood pressure down, she can start to relax and enjoy, don't forgt to take her downtown Toronto this time! Have lovely birthday lunch. Hope Huffle better soon. HB home this weekend.... Lovely. xx
