Digging up Frankie's Tomatoes.

Last night after Grandad and I finished the edge of the new jigsaw, and the kids went to bed, we played cards. We struggled to stay awake but managed to play two games.

Another good night's sleep. Apparently the coyotes were howling at 6am but I never heard them. We had breakfast, did a bit of jigsaw (very tricky foil one), the boys played table hockey.....

Huffle and Smallest against Small and Grandad

Sat in the sun room, it was lovely and sunny.

They won, EASY, EASY EASY EASY

Small played in the basement with his Lego, Smallest had a bath while Grandma entertained him with bubbles. Grandad and Huffle looked at the windows that needed attention. Grandad, Huffle and I went out into the garden. Grandad planted bulbs (nearly 100 bulbs including tulips, daffodils and alliums - still got the iris' to do).

Huffle and I started digging out a new bit of garden between the big Pine tree and the Juniper bush (Jenifer, Juniper, la, la, la, la, laaaaa).

Smallest came out after his bath and started sweeping up the leaves, which Grandad then piled into a big dust sheet and put them all on the compost heap.

Then we planted the Hydrangea Perniculata (have you got one yet Madamme Courvoisier?) and our white Hydrangea, two Hostas (one called June), a Heuchera, two beautiful Echinaceas and a low growing sedum that Drew gave us.

There is still some space for more. We planted a few bulbs and we have some more to put in here. We were called in for a cup of tea, then realised the time. We had a table booked at Frankie Tomatoes at 1:30, so we all rushed to get ready and managed to get out. On the way we passed a great field full of pumpkins.

....and we also passed a monstrosity of a building.

We thought it was a mosque but Huffle saw 'Jesus' on the front, so maybe some kind of church.

We went into the restaurant, sat down, got our drinks and started choosing our food (a buffet style, with many counters of different foods. Salads, pizza, pasta, fruit, vegetables, omelette, meats, chips, potatoes, and much much more). While we went off to get our food, Grandma and Grandad looked after our bags and table (and had a sneaky hand hold - hope that makes some of you happy that have been asking why they haven't been holding hands).

Smallest found an enormous pumpkin but couldn't pick it up.

We had lots of different things to eat and finally got on to dessert. Ummmmmmm. Heaven.

This was just one little selection. Grandad went and got his first ice-cream ..............

Smallest had a cake

......... And Grandad's second ice-cream........

Huffle's ice-cream was a sherbet rainbow - yuk

Smallest seemed to be not very well. We wondered how he had escaped our illnesses. He seemed to be very tired and had no appetite (well not for the savoury stuff anyway!).

A bread roll in one hand and an ice cream in the other

I think this is Small's favourite bit. So many cakes, ice-creams, puddings. You just have to try a few (at least).

Then there was some really loud music behind us, cakes with candles and a cardboard cut out of Mr Frankie Tomato himself. Clapping all around us. Photos taken.

A tomato shaped balloon landed on our thumbs.

Our official photo

Smallest looked after my Tomato for me.

Grandad checks out the Vino cupboard.

Grandma, Huffle and Smallest drove home. Smallest fell asleep on the way. Grandad, Small and I came home using Huffle's sat Nav. It told us the wrong direction all the way home. It was determined we should get off the road we were on but luckily I knew the way (or at least, a way!). It was very funny.

At home, we played Small's new game 'Lego Creationary'. It was very interesting. Grandad had to make a barbeque.

Those are sausages and burgers on the top.

This is Grandmas Shoe Shop. It was a funny game.

Huffle and Grandad tried to watch the football. Grandma tried to help Small with his homework. Today's was French. We were all trying to speak French and I was asking Grandma what she would like to eat. She asked for Bread and Butter and when I tried to repeat it back, it appears I asked her if she wanted a Donkey Sandwich. Whoops.

It has turned much cooler. We have finally put our heating on. Oooooh lovely.

Good blog, thank goodness Grandama and Grandad have held hands, although as they do it all the time at home, I'm quite used to it!!, loved the photos, like the shape of the new 'bed' and of course it wouldn't b a blog without a few leaves thrown in. We hv had very stressful morning as Glastonbury tickets went on sale at 9am, both iPads, computer , mobile and landline all in use, no wonder the site crashes, anyway success thanks to HB's friend who booked for her and GG. Phew, now off to Glen Hiese to watch unc pear, play delayed due to fog but it promises to be lovely day, that is when we can see out!
