Goodbye Gramma and Granpops

Last night we sent Grandma to bed and Grandad, Huffle and I watched Celebrity Juice Halloween special. Not as good as previous ones but still funny (and far too rude for Grandmas!).

This morning the boys were 'Triple Angels'. I had a quiet word with them and told them that G&G wouldn't be here when they got home and could they sit with us instead of playing on their devices. No complaining, no moaning, they got some books and brought them to the table and we all sat around looking and discussing them. It was lovely and I am so proud of them. They are lovely boys.

As they left for their school bus, they gave out cuddles and kisses and promises to Skype. I think the boys will miss them. It was very difficult to watch Grandma get upset at seeing them go. It must be so hard.

I went off to work this morning and planted Tulip, Crocus and Fritilaria bulbs in the rock gardens. We had a lovely Chocolate Spiced cake for coffee time and a good chat in the warmth of the house. It started out really chilly but by the end of the morning the sun had come out and it was lovely.

Huffle, Grandma and Grandad went for an adventure to White Feather County Store or Four Feather Falls as Grandma calls it. Huffle has never been before and was not enamoured. However they did take a lots of photos for me to share here.

They then headed for Port Perry where they walked around some shops and had tea and a berry scone which I am informed was very nice. They came home just after midday.

G&G wrapped Christmas presents and packed their bags and Huffle and I had some lunch, then we all sat in the kitchen and watched the many different birds feeding on our bird feeders. We saw Woodpeckers, Doves, Nuthatches, BlueJays, Chickadees and Sparrows, as well as squirrels and a greedy chipmunk.

Before long it was time for the trip to the airport. This part never gets any easier. Lots of hugs, a few tears and more promises of Skypes, a silly wave from the porch and whoosh, they were gone. Goodby Grandma and Grandad, it has been a lovely visit which seemed to go by very quickly. See you soon x

I tidied, read my card from my lovely friend Yahoo and blogged whilst waiting for the kids to get home.

My card with a photo of the Clock Tower in Leicester (our home town).

The boys came home. Small did his literacy homework and Smallest coloured in his Rememberance poster for a competition tomorrow.

The boys played on Minecraft while I made dinner and when Huffle got home we all ate and then played battleships.

Everyone is very tired. Early nights tonight. Although it is Bonfire Night in the UK were have decided to save our bonfire and sparklers for the weekend when we have more time.

It has been very wet and windy here all week so bonfires have been a bit washed out, however still seen a few fireworks x
