Stinky Otto drives us away

We had a nice lie-in this morning. I dreamt about Small and Smallest ice skating along the road holding hands to keep each other up. I woke up feeling happy until I realised it was just a dream.

Small was feeling much better today and made us all scrambled egg on toast for breakfast.

This is Small's PJ's - I don't want you thinking we have gone all Redneck.

The boys had their showers, did homework and played on the IPad while Huffle and I made the Christmas cake.

It needed three hours to bake so we skyped Moo and she played a game of Fishing with Smallest and I. She won! How did that happen? Smallest and Huffle got the bikes out and did some maintenance on them, WD40, tyres pumped etc and I 'winterised' the porch urns. Otto started a fire and was burning wet leaves (we think), the smell and smoke was horrendous and we had to close all the windows and go out!! Bloody stinky prat!

I have not decorated this for Christmas, as it is NOT Christmas yet. I can't do Christmas before December. That's just ridiculous (despite all the adverts on at the moment!!!!!)

After a lunch in front of another half an hour of the film Captain America, we drove, in two cars as the bikes were in the boot, to Whitby Marina. The temperature was around 11* and was sunny. Still quit cold especially on the hands and face but nice.

Here, the boys went on the park and then we cycled 7km towards the Marina (but we couldn't get in because it was closed) and we found a park and a really nice place to cycle around along by the water.

There were some interesting people walking around and it wasn't long before we realised we were in the grounds of the Mental Health Hospital.

Unfortunately they wouldn't keep him

We turned around because the boys were tired and cycled back. On the way we stopped at the exercise park and did a quick workout ......

.....before going on the park and playing. I left Huffle for five minutes to play with the kids ..........

......and when I came back he had made friends with a squirrel called Bernard (pronounced Ber-nard). We know this was his name because when we called him, he stood up, flicked his tail in an appreciative way and came a bit closer.

"Oh hello, did you say ber-nard, oh yes thats me. Peep O"

We drove to a supermarket and picked up something for dinner and some gloves for the boys and came home. The bikes and shopping were put away, the boys played blanket fighting (apparantly) and then we had dinner. Small is not eating much at all at the moment, he just does not have an appetite though he did ask for an ice cream while we were cycling, funnily enough there was nowhere to buy one from.

The boys watched TV before bed, had their stories and went to sleep.

Tomorrow is the Santa Parade in Toronto. Rain is forecast so we will stay in and watch it on the TV (Jeff says we can do that because we have seen it once and you dont have to see it live ever again!).

Grandad's solar light and the full moon - which one is brighter (small's caption not mine!).

Say Hi to Ber-nard for us, he looks pretty cool. Never seen. Black squirrel before, is it a Canadan thing?

Is it possible to catch tummy bugs through the internet? Miss Rumbleskins has also been throwing up. Hope everyone is better soon!

Yes we have tons. They say the only people who take photos of black squirrels in Toronto are tourists
