Escalators, Trains and Dinosaurs

An early start for Huffle and I, followed by Moo bringing the kids home (they had a good time). We were all at the train station by 10 and on our way to London by 10:30. It was an uneventful train ride. Huffle and Smallest sat together trying to sort his camera and make room for photos of dinosaurs. Small and I sat together and played on the IPad and Moo sat on her own (well she deserved a break). Aunty A was there waiting for us when we arrived. Lots of hugs and then we got on the tube to South Kensington and into the Natural History Museum. The last time we were here was when Small was 4 and Smallest was a baby.

As it was a weekday, it wasn't very busy and we got to wander round without being shuffled along. Smallest took photos of everything (now where does he get that from?). They loved it. Moo had never been before. Smallest found a new man for Moo. He was very hairy and if she disappeared or stopped to take a photo, he would say "she's with the hairy man, she loves him". The building was lovely architecturally. We explored the dinosaurs, the reptiles and the mammals before stopping for a drink and another look at Moo's man.

We went back to the Underground (did some hopping) to get to Covent Garden where we ate the biggest and nicest pizza in the World. We had Butternut, Colton Basset and Margharita with a very different nice beer.
We wanderd around Covent Garden, watching entertainers and looking for ice cream.
And then on to Trafalgar Square. More entertainers, lots of people and Smallest seeing Big Ben (which was on his wish list).
We made our way towards the river and walked across Jubilee Bridge passing the London Eye.

We wandered around the Southbank and right up to BlackFriars where we left Huffle, Moo and the boys. Everyone was tired and had had a great day though Huffle still wasnt well.

AA and I carried on walking along the Southbank to London Bridge and onto the train to Lewisham, where we walked up and down hills to AA's house which has the biggest door I have ever seen. She lives in a an amazing house right at the top. It is lovely.

We had a beer, I rolled my foot, connected to the wifi, picked up messages, charged my phone, found something warmer to wear and we walked off to Jamie's restaurant in Greenwich. We stopped at the Cuttty Sark on the way and then went for dinner,

I had the best bruscetta I have ever had and then a risotto with another beer. We couldn't manage pudding but we had a long chat. We walked back looking at houses and trees on the way. Once inside the huge door, we had tea and Chocolate mini fingers.

Very tired, we went to bed.

Wow, what a lovely time you are having. And now you have made me homesick for London as well as Leicester! Xx
