Temporary Bus Stop in a Bucket

I can't believe I was actually sitting outside in the sunshine writing this at 10am, having toast with lemon curd (thank you LizziedotDot) after watching my three boys walk down the country lane wearing their PJ's. What a glorious morning. We got the dongle working in the car which means we now have some wifi signal sitting in the house and outside.

I did a small wash and hung it out on the line in the sunshine and it was dry by lunchtime (amazing). We made a quick phone call to Moo to let her know we were here (she has booked her flight over to Canada already for June). We all got ready and went out to Market Harborough to buy a retirement card for Grandad and while we were there we bumped into MrsJumbleberries, her lovely daughter and her Mum. It was so nice to see them and they were just talking about us.

As it was such a beautiful day we decided to go to Foxton Locks (one of the kids favourite places). The car park nearest to the locks was absolutely crammed full with a parking attendent who did nothing. We told her she should be telling cars that the car park was full but she said we should have been able to tell. WHAT WAS HER JOB THEN? She shouted after us in a sarcastic manner "have a nice day". We drove to the other car park but that was even more full with a huge queue of people waiting for parking tickets. We changed our mind, turned around and drove to Kibworth and went to the park. The kids had a great time and they both remembered going there previously. This was the same park where I heard the news that we were definitely moving to Canada. We stayed for a while, Huffle and I relaxing in the sunshine and then playing too. I had a quick look at the boys pre-school and then we drove back to our house to pick up the boys toothbrushes as they stayed overnight at Grandmas.

Next we drove to Gilmorton where we met the family for a meal for Grandad's birthday and retirement. There were 17 of us. We had two big tables. It was very noisy and warm but the food and company was entertaining. I sat with Small and Smallest and HB and GP. Smallest tickled GP through most of the meal - we don't think he minded too much. There was lots of frivolity, drinking and eating and then we all went back to Grandmas. Smallest went with HB and GP. Small went with CousinD and Grandma and Grandad. We took Moo and we did all end up at the right house.

There was a game of cricket, tennis and playing outside and blowing up of noisy balloons (thanks for that Aunt Pear).

We had a wig trying on session which was funny and scary.

Grandma brought the cake out and we sang to Grandad and then we finished off the 40 theoretically sliced cake. It was very nice. Half of the party went home and then we started to play cards. Ten of us played Woppit. I think Huffle won, I know I didn't and that was because of GP!!!! The boys had a lovely time but stayed up late AGAIN.

Next we played Newmarket where we slipped in some Canadian money to please Grandma. I have no idea who won what, it was crazy, manic, noisy and I was blogging at the same time.

Lol, Canada must seem pretty darn quiet when compared to your (lovely) family! Glad that you're having such a great time, fantastic weather (we're getting 10-12" of snow tonight and Wednesday but it was 10C yesterday!!). Happy retirement to Grandad too. Hope Huffle doesn't get a cold!

Hugs
