Deported in one day!

I loved sleeping in Small's room last night because his ceiling is full of glow in the dark stars. I have always wanted an observatory and I asked Huffle if he would ever build me a house with one in and he said he doubted it, so it will have to be the glow in the dark stars. Huffle didn't sleep well because he never does when he is not in his own bed. The bed used to be mine before we were married and then as a spare for many years. I slept well. I could probably sleep on a washing line though to be honest! Grandma and Grandad slept well in our bed but Grandad was moving his feet and snoring and Grandma had a dream about bugs falling on her head. Small slept well in the penthouse.

The boys went to school. Small should have had band practice but it was cancelled. Smallest had a football game after school but had to leave early in order to get there in time. Someone else drove him but Grandad and I went to watch and brought him home afterwards.

We had a slow start to the morning and then Huffle and I took Grandad round the garden and we made a list of things needing doing now and in the future. We have lots of paths planned. Grandad decided to start taking the compost out of No3 and put them on our veg beds. The compost we (I should give Grandad full credit really) made is lovely stuff. Granada thinks we filled, and emptied, ten wheelbarrows full of lovely compost. He says it was the finest compost leaf mould can make. He is only saying that because I want to mulch the leaves and use them directly on our beds instead of raking them to compost corner. We may have to compromise.

We stopped for lunch and helped Grandma with her TImes Crossword. We did very well with some help from T'internet. Grandad and I went off to find Smallest's football game and watched while they drew 3-3 though there was a penalty given for a silly shoulder barge and then the referee shook hands with the penalty taker after he scored! Smallest missed an open goal with his Chocolate left foot much to the consternation of Grandad who gave him much stick for the rest of the night.

.....and big goals, shame there were no nets!

As we arrived home, the bed was just being delivered and luckily for Huffle, they took it all the way up to the loft penthouse suite. Grandad, Huffle and I made light work of putting it all together. It looks lovely and Huffle is looking forward to a good night's sleep. I am going to miss the stars.

We left Grandma at home making dinner. She made us burgers, chicken, potatoes wedges, a medley of vegetables and a red coleslaw made with homegrown beetroot, MrsM's red cabbage, red onion, apple and carrot. It was yummy though the boys would disagree on the coleslaw.

The boys made a ThursdaySundae for our dessert. Very nice.
