Lessons in Navigation

A relaxing morning. The kids had their chores to do for their bad behaviour yesterday and Huffle set them the task of emptying the dishwasher and I got Smallest vacuuming the skirting boards whilst Small swiffed the floors.

I watched the first half of the Leicester game while the kids finished up and played on their tablets. Today Huffle bought us tickets to see the Blue Jays and because they are not going to win The Division, season ticket holders are selling off their seats for reasonable prices. Hence, today, we got seats in the 100's, nicely close to the action, in fact only 31 rows from the front.

Another first for us today was to give Small his first Life Lesson. We are watching a sit com at the moment called TheMiddle and just before their daughter went off to College they gave her life lessons to help her be on her own. Small's first lesson was to buy tickets for the train, find the platform and navigate our way though UnionStation. We are all going to do it, including Smallest and I because we always let Huffle do it and we are pretty clueless as we just blindly follow. Anyway, Small bought the tickets, got us on the platform and very successfully navigated us out of the station. On the way home he also got us to the station, in it and on the train. In fact some would say he managed it in a much quicker way than Huffle, though Huffle would say that the several times he has had trouble was because there was construction. Ummmmm!

My blue jays boys and some reflections

We arrived in Toronto about 1pm and we were hungry so we headed for the harbour as Huffle knew there had been some changes in establishments recently. Eventually we chose a pub that had the Stoke/ManU game on. The boys had a poor fish and chips, I had a bean burger (nice) and Huffle had pork tacos (good). They were happy with the draw plus being the first team to have taken points off the scummers.

A whole wall of the same paintings

We wandered through the Vegan Festival until we found our Gelato shop and indulged in Coconut, Hazelnut Chocolate, Stratiatella, Lemon and ate them on the harbour bridge.

Ice creams, harbour and silliness

The game was on at 4pm today so we casually wandered to the stadium (same place as ColdPlay). The roof was open and it was a beautifully sunny day. The boys got a poster each at the gate and Huffle and I signed up to be designated drivers which gives us a chance of a prize (normally a lawnmower) plus a free large drink (not alcohol obviously). Talking of alcohol, the people behind us were knocking back the Beer at $14 a can (the wife was not pleased) and someone asked the husband, of two kids, did he want another beer. The wife said NO he was driving and we heard them say "it's ok, in 45 minutes he'll be sober". Smallest also heard this comment and was appalled, as we all were. Honestly, some people. Lots of people actually. There were far too many sets of parents drinking with very small children. And why the children were there anyway because the parents spent most of their time running around after them, buying them sweets and drinks etc. I watched one bite, scratch and pinch his father and he said nothing except OUCH and then gave him popcorn! The game was against DetroitTigers and we won 5-4. It was very good and the view was exceptional. Small tried to help me understand the various elements of the game. It finished at 7:30pm and we got home around 9pm.
