...and he did carry the rod of gold on his shoulders

A much better night's sleep. Lots of rain in the night but not much sign of the Tropical Cyclone unless you count hot sunshine and rain but at different times.

Beautiful sky (not edited) and the start of Autumnal colour

HAPPY THANKSGIVING OR HAPPY FORGIVING as we have renamed it for our household at least.

Smallest was feeling much better this morning except for a sore throat which we solved with a cup of hot Ribena. I can only guess his cough was caused by his room being smoke filled by idiot next door. Huffle and I are going to go and have a word with him!

We all had a late croissant breakfast and the boys played on their tablets after tidying their rooms. Grandma started peeling for a mid afternoon dinner and Huffle made some pastry for mine and Smalls pie. Grandad and I went outside and started on a new path for the side garden. Huffle joined us and we soon made light work of it despite the ground being thick, heavy and claylike. Grandad got stuck at one point. We sourced some new material for the next path and there was a little bit of football with the boys before we all came in for showers.

Naughty Grandad looking for logs

Dinner, which was scheduled for 3pm, was on the table by 3:15pm WOW! We had a feast fit for a table of for-givers. Lamb, new potatoes, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, beetroot, sweet potato and onion. A vegetable pie, cauli cheese, broccoli, beans, cauliflower, carrots and peas. Gravy, cheese sauce and mint sauce. Suffice to say we had plenty of leftovers. Not surprising really.

Smallest drooling at the lamb

After dinner everyone but me watched XFactor. I sat outside and enjoyed the afternoon cloud and photographed anything blooming at the moment. There isn't a lot.

With our Treacle Pudding, we watched the rest of PiratesOfTheCaribbean. Then we watched Apprentice, YoureFired.
