Bum shuffling and a pennant

Grandad and Huffle came back too late for Grandma and I to stay up for, plus we heard nothing from them, so we had no idea when they were coming back. We watched a bit of TV but neither of us could keep awake. They did come back but not until late and made such a rumpus on their way to bed that even if we were sleeping, we would have been woken. Grandad fell out of bed with a huge crash causing Huffle to rush downstairs because at first he thought it was Smallest. Then he found out it was Grandad (who had to crawl on the floor from the toilet to get himself back to bed) and after checking he wasn't doing himself too much damage, he came back to bed. I think he may have been in a state! Huffle didn't sleep well and Grandma definitely didn't!! We didn't hear a lot from Grandad for the rest of the day. I'm guessing he was suitably shamed!

Everyone had to get up early in order to get to Smallest's School Football Tournament which was about 30 minutes drive away and started at 10:30 (we had to be there for 10am). The Legends, that were the school coaches, were ready with their clipboards. Clipboards are their winning weapons and means instant success (though it hasn't actually worked in the past). Our team had a very good turnout in the football appreciation squad. Their first game was 1-1. The second game was 1-0 won. Smallest had a supporters club from another team. The whole team cheered him on. It was so funny to watch and when Smallest came off he got high fives and cheers from them all. This was the same team that were brought a pizza (two big pizzas) in between games. Grandad was appalled. That was our group done and we came first in our division.

There was a break for about an hour where we drove to TimHortons for bagels and drinks and takeaway donuts. Now we don't go in there too often but I think I'm quite good at the ordering part. Unfortunately our server was a newbie being trained and she found us challenging both to understand us and know what we wanted. We only ordered five bagels, four with cream cheese, one with Jam and that baffled her. When it came to the drinks order it was much more complicated as each person had a different drink. I have finally found the drink that I can have there that is just right for me. A hot water. Whooppeeee.

Back to the football park where the next game was the semi final which was won 1-0 Smallest's goal. Unfortunately his supporters team had left and only a few were left there to cheer him on. He loved it though. He was told by Legend2 coach that he was not allowed to tackle or shirt pull. Ridiculous, of curse he can. When we asked Smallest why she said that, he was told "that's not nice". The final was 1-0 and it won them the Gold medal, first place. The supporters were ecstatic.

Grandma made a new football friend today. A three year old girl who liked picking dandelions. The weather started cold and rainy and ended up, in the afternoon, quite hot. It ended with rain though later.

We came home and Smallest had a bath and got changed and we relaxed for a while until we decided to go out for dinner. I had one of the best meals I have had here in Canada. It was a Pan Fried Rainbow Trout with leeks and mushrooms on a bed of ancient grains with baby book chop. Deeelicioous. Other meals were pizza, chicken and shepherds pie.

The Hamlet had a 'party in the park' this evening for TomThomson who was a famous painter of the GroupOfSeven who was born in this hamlet. The party was very wet no had moved inside the community hall and pretty much everything had finished by the time we got there. We still guessed how many jelly beans were in the jar, tried bannock and blueberry jam and Smallest fished for plastic fish. Grandad had a photo with his hero.

We came home and relaxed some more before bed. Sleep well everyone PLEASE!
