Happy Birthday MrTall14

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our very lovely, extremely tall, gorgeous boy Small. Fourteen years ago I was induced the night before and was in labour all day though I couldn't feel a thing because I had an epidural. I couldn't eat all day and he just did not wat to come out until he got into trouble and his heart rate dipped right down and I had to have an emergency c-section. Very scary but definitely worth it. What a wonderful young man he has turned into.

This morning he was watching Americas Got Talent with the rest of the family and I made a start on pancakes which we had for his birthday breakfast. I made him a special kit kat one. During breakfast he opened his cards in between eating and then worked his way though his presents. He got two caps, one Blue Jays, one Stoke and a beanie Stoke hat. He had some blue tooth headphones, money, socks, measuring cups and a cake in a mug plus two t-shirts and a wallet.

For his birthday treat we went to Toronto on the train and arrived about 12:40. Today was my turn to buy tickets and navigate us through the stations. I did okay I think but not as well as Small last time.

Waiting at the station
Reflections. Beautiful sky
We started by walking towards the harbour and Grandad bought us tickets for us all to go on a harbour boat ride. Our tour guide, Dylan, was full of cheesey comments but was entertaining enough and we learned a few things on the way. We went along the harbour, past BillyBishopAirport and around the islands and back. It took about an hour but didn't feel that long, ie not boring. We got a lot of photos.
After the boat ride we walked to the ferry stop and got another boat, this time to CentreIsland where we walked to Centreville Theme Park, a very old fashioned small park with a smattering of rides. Originally we were going to get tickets for the kids and Huffle and Grandad but we only had two hours till it closed and we thought it would be better to just let the kids have the run of the place. They loved it and were really nice with each other.
On the ferry
We took our leftover calzones from last night and finished them off by the water. I won't mention the fact that Grandma threw water at a duck and Grandad waved his hanky viciously and with intent at a wasp. However, this was nothing next to the Greek man who kicked at a goose!

We had loads of fun just watching them for two hours. They started on the Ferris Wheel which is now computerised and took far too long to load and unload people and not enough time going round.

Next they went on The Big Bears where Small swung it round so fast that Smallest was pinned to the wall and couldn't move.
Log flume next where Smallest said it was really fast and Small said it wasn't fast enough

The one they really wanted to go on was the Scrambler (an old fashioned fair ground ride in the dark with loud music and lights. Grandad thinks it used to be called TheCyclone). They went on this one two and a half times. Once it was stopped because a girl was screaming to get it stopped and they got an extra go. The bumper cars (dodgems) was their most favourite and they had so many goes they ended up not getting off each time and battling with the car operators. Small was given a challenge to knock the sunglasses off an older gentlemans head and he did. Smallest made a girl cry but it wasn't his fault and the operators high fived Small when he came off eventually. The boys absolutely loved this. One other ride they went on was a small roller coaster but was very mild.

We had a quick wander round Franklins Children's Garden and made our way back to the ferry. Small and I sat on the top deck and just chatted and watched the water and the others were downstairs. Somebody sent Huffle an airdrop video and he accepted it (he thought it was me but it wasn't) but it was a lovely Toronto Skyline. We got back to Downtown where we attempted to find food but couldn't so ate in the Station/Train. Smallest got asked by a policeman if he had been a help to his Mom and he said yes, so he gave him a GO Bear sticker and called him a good boy.

On the train

In my car on the way home, Small and I tested Grandads music knowledge again. We asked Grandad where he would take a sheep to get his haircut and he said the barbers! When trying to think of Liam Payne he said it was Anton Dubec. Trying to get the rapper DaddyYankee he came up with Dad E Doodle! Very funny and although CousinDyl has been tutoring him, he could do better!

What a lovely day.
