This morning we had a slow start. Breakfast, got ready, jigsawed, played table football, bit of Wii. Then we made our way to Dollarama. Great store. Lots of rubbish very cheap but some good stuff if you can be bothered to walk round the whole place. The boys chose some Halloween decorations for the porch. They also chose a mask each for their Halloween costumes. Normally we would paint their faces, but this year is the first Halloween we have had here in Canada. At school you take your costumes in and at lunchtime everybody gets changed and walks around the Hamlet. So we thought if they had masks it would be easier than all the face paint we normally do. So there was lots of mask wearing.......
Don't like it!!
Still don't like it
Scary little smallest
We tried some hats on Grandad......
There's trouble in them there hills!
Not sure who he is here but he has got a new mug!
When we had finished looking round and being silly, we went for something to eat. Very nice food. We were very full at the end.Grandad's second favourite Canadian Beer
We went five pin bowling next. Very very funny. I think we all enjoyed it.
Small did very well, despite his handicap of only one thumb!
There is a reason these three are looking so concerned. Small was easily beating Grandad, nearly beating Huffle and just keeping Grandma at bay! One thumbed nine year old had us all nearly beat, right to the end!!Grandad's 'satnav' was just a bit "off" today!!
A lovely strike by Small
Huffle happy with his shot
A great action shot of Smallest with Small just sorting the balls!
Our shoes. See how Small managed to get his poorly thumb in. Needs some more sympathy I think.
Brilliant game. Lots of fun. A good thing to do on G&G's last day.On the way home we stopped off for ice cream. Grandma is pretending - she didn't have one again.
Grandma and I popped to a supermarket and picked up a couple of things (more painkillers needed for thumb). Then we all went home.
There was table football played by all of us together. Packing was done. Wii was played. Jigsaw was done. A card game by the grown-ups. Tea drunk. More masks tried on.
Small and Smallest
Then a swap over
Then before we knew it, it was time for G&G to leave. Huffle put their bags in the car. Lots of hugs, a few tears, lots of kisses and promises of Skypes, lots of waving from the car and the porch.
This is the bit we hate most. People have to leave. We don't like it. It doesn't seem to get any easier.
I put the boys to bed. Eased off Small's splint and we washed his hand properly. Read Pirate Stories to Smallest. Read Harry Potter to Small and made him comfortable. Tomorrow I will ring the Hand Specialist and see when we can get an appointment for Small to be looked at. I am hoping he can get a cast put on because I think he will deal with it better, however, I also know that that will mean none of his clothes will fit. At the moment he can't wear jeans as he can't undo or do up the button. So we have found out all his jogging bottoms. His long sleeved tops don't really go over his splint easily without it pulling on his thumb. His coat sleeves are too thin to go over the sticky out thumb and so are his fleeces. If only boys wore ponchos - maybe be we could start a new trend.
Huffle text me while I was writing this. His passengers have been dropped off at the airport (there were tears) and he is on his way home. It is pouring with rain.
BYE BYE GRANDMA AND GRANDAD - SEE YOU SOON.

Goodbyes are never easy, seems harder the older I get!! Surprised they don't stay a bit longer if they're both retired? Looks like a fun last day though!
Card making eh? That's a can of worms right there, remortgage the house, that's my advice, you'll need the cash to buy everything you just can't do without!!! I'll pit a few links together and send you an email.
Hugs
Brenda
What a good last day for G&G. Seems like a brilliant visit other than poor Small's injury. The goodbye tears are natural, woud b strange if it wasn't difficult, it made me feel sad reading it. On a lighter note Scary masks brilliant. We just back from Wimbledon, awful journey back . His new flat (room) minuscule, how they will manage have no idea. On a cheery note I am not doing any more cleaning all week!! Give Huffle a hug from us, he might need an extra one tonight. xx
