Once we all got ready, we split up into two cars again and drove to Port Perry. Much cooler today (in fact, much colder). We wore hats, gloves, scarves, fleeces, boots. Really can't believe how quickly the weather has changed. Grandma, Small and I got there before the others and practiced our French numbers. We counted up to Seventy and back down again.
First we checked out the boat to see how much it was, how long it lasted, whether it was worth it. Then we went and had dinner at the Italian we like there. Small had pizza (there's a surprise), Smallest had Cheese Pasta (there's another surprise). It was very good as usual.
Grandma and I checked out the shop across the road which was closing down. Full of crochet and knitted blankets (I can do that), and bits and bobs. Nothing worth buying even though there was a 70% discount. We found the boys (all four of them) down by the lake. They bought tickets for the boat and we took the little boys on the park while we waited for the time to pass.
Grandma and Grandad stood under the falling leaves of the colourful Maple Trees.
We definitely did not just throw them at them!
We watched the Canada Geese landing and taking off.We bumped into NoCustard and had a chat. Then we got on the boat. It was covered and the heating was on. It was lovely and warm. However, after about ten minutes, it was stuffy so Grandma and the little boys went up on top deck where it was chilly but nice.
The trees all around the lake were amazing. The colours were so different. Reds, oranges, yellows, absolutely beautiful.
The whole tour took two hours which was far too long and the boys were bored.
Grandad and Huffle were making smells which meant they were mainly left on their own. Grandad even emptied the top deck.
The little boys played hide and seek.
I took many photographs.
Grandma entertained the boys.
Definitely NOT fake jungle
There was a running commentary all through which was partly interesting. I didn't really listen to it all. In between the commentary they played music. Mainly music from the 60's and 70's. one tune that sticks in my mind is 'Love Boat', played because we were on a boat? They played two songs that were up to date, Adele and Bruno Mars, but that was it.
There was hardly anyone else on there (unless they were hiding from the smells of the two big boys!!!).
The captain let the boys steer the boat for just long enough for me to take a photo.
We saw lots of lovely houses. Grandad's favourite was a huge three storey stone house right on the lake.
When we finally docked, it was really cold. Grandma and I went and got some Thanksgiving/Birthday dinner from the supermarket and the boys went home.
Noodman - you mean he has no clothes on?
When we got back, the little boys were playing on their DS' and the big boys were watching football. Stoke v Liverpool.Grandma put the Turkey in to defrost as it is quite big and frozen. Free Turkey for anyone in the area tomorrow - Grandma is cooking!!
We had a bit of tea and played a game of Monopoly Deal before the kids went to bed. Grandad read their stories tonight.

Nice to finally see evidence of the hand holding there, it was cold this weekend wasn't it? We had slight frosts Sat/Sun, hope it warms up a bit again! We save the turkey for Christmas but thanks all the same!
