After breakfast and showers, the boys and I went out to buy concrete, cake tins and groceries. The concrete and the cake tins was to make stepping stones (I saw it on Pinterest and it looked easy........).
The boys helped with shopping by running off and collecting things for me and when we got home they helped to put away. We all helped to get dinner ready by filling the Slow Cooker with fabulous ingredients for a Chilli later and then we had lunch.
After lunch we went out to the barn as it started raining quite heavily and we made a start on our concrete mixing. Small used a rectangle tin and added marbles and a maple leaf. Smallest used a tin foil chicken roaster and added marbles and a leaf and I used a small round tin and added a Hosta Leaf. The concrete was impossible to mix but we got a decent consistency eventually and smoothed it over our additions and tins and left it to dry on the barn. If they become step-on-able stepping stones, it'll be a bloomin' miracle. I also splattered my face and top with concrete!!!! Not a good look!
The shelves arrived while we were in the barn so we all stopped to help bring them in (the rain was even heavier). We dumped them inside until later as Huffle was working and then later Huffle and I carried them up the stairs (they were heavy too).
Small decided what he wanted to keep and I put the stuff on his new shelves (very smart and grown up) and Smallest go a few new things and tidied his room and put his stuff on his new(ish) shelves. All very organized and tidy now. The boys spent until dinner time on their tablets.
After dinner (in which we used our newly turned red JalapeƱo Chilli - OUCH) we all played Catan (Huffle won).
