When you wish upon a star.

Yesterday evening we never got to finish our Monopoly Fast Play game (called fast play because it has an extra dice. Is it fast? Is it poo!). This morning we finished our game and I really should have won because both boys owed me over $400 each before I landed on one of Small's properties and lost all my money (how can that work?).

Last night, due to no moonlight, we were supposed to witness the Perseid Meteor Shower. We stood looking up at the sky and saw quite a few shooting stars (we don't know if they were stars or the meteor showers) but the sky was so clear that we saw many many stars. It was beautiful. Small stayed up late to see them and Huffle got to see his first shooting star (and second).

This morning I vacuumed the pool (wow the new pump is much better and stronger), did the various cleaning bits, checked the Chemicals and filled it up. Huffle went in later in the day and attempted to stir it up so the silt doesn't lie on the floor but goes through the pump and away. It's going to be a hot weekend so we need to be prepared.

Later, after Monopoly, the boys did their own thing while I made dinner which we ate midday and then we went to the Leisure Centre and the boys played with the Suffolk Kids at the swimming pool, water slide and lazy river. They stayed for two hours and Suffolk and I got to watch and chat.

Smallest took this photo of the frog instead of picking him up.

When we got home we had tea, the boys watched a bit of TV and then we went off to football. Smallest and Coach Huffle for their game and Small and I for his practice. Smallest scored a goal in his team's 4-0 win (Huffle edit - and put one lad on the floor although he did go down like a sack of spuds) so he has three to get on his last game next week to get Grandad's target to earn him a box of wine gums! Small practised his corners again and did some good ones during his scrimmage - no goals though!

Graceful geese
I can see a man in this silver lining.
