Hey you, little mouse, are you deaf?

All slept well last night. All got up a little later than usual. It was cloudy and grey and there was some rain here and there.

After breakfast, Small and I played Disney Monopoly and Smallest and Huffle played Dino Trumps, snap and Ghostly Galleon. Then we all got changed and played in the garden. Huffle wanted to clear the gutters but once he put the ladder up, I made him take it down again. It was far too high and unstable. We are going to get someone to do it properly and chicken wire it while they are there to stop the leaves getting in.

They thought Huffle's head was stuck and went to rescue him, but then thought it would be funny to join him.

So instead, we played basketball...........

We had to blow the ball up first.

Shoot......
It's in!

......looked around the garden.........

Lovely red peppers

A sunflower we never planted

Runner beans - nearly ready

Two cucumbers ready to be picked

The pool, that was a lovely light blue and almost see through, until the boys got in and whooshed it around, went green again. Arrrggggghhhhh. There was also too much water in it from all the rain we have had. We back washed it but it came out too slow so we got in instead and made a whirlpool and splashed it over the sides.

Small and Smallest also did lots of jumping in and dive bombing.

Geronimo

Watch out

This looks like Smallest is standing on water, he isn't, he's jumping in

......and again
While we were in the pool, a little mouse came up and started eating the vacuum head. We tried to shoo him away but he ignored us, he wasn't scared. In fact he didn't even seem to hear us. We splashed a bit of water on him and he moved a bit, just out of the way. In the end he sauntered off along a wire and back through the barn - cheeky thing!

This was a sign that Small made all by himself. Apparently, when he found this piece of wood in the lake on holiday, he thought it was an octopus, hence the 'lake octopus' reference.

The rain poured down while we were in the pool. We ran out because all our clothes and towels were getting wet. We called it a day and the boys played on the wii while we swept, vacuumed and mopped. Then we made pizza and sat and watched Return of the Jedi in the basement with our dinner. For desert we had English Jelly and Canadian Ice Cream. Ummmmmmm the jelly was delicious, thanks Grandma and Grandad.

The boys went to bed. Huffle caught up on the golf while I blogged and then we watched the closing ceremony of the Olymics. WOW, this Olympics has been amazing. Well done to all the GB athletes, and the rest of the world, of course. No doubt I will have some comments about the closing ceremony tomorrow.

Poor Unc Pear wasn't well yesterday and today. Get better Unc Pear, hope you got our pile-on! X
